<p style="text-align: justify;">When the heart muscle does not get enough oxygen because of blockage in the coronary arteries, the heart sends pain signals. The nerves of the heart and the left hand go to the brain through the same path. Because of this, the brain is unable to identify the source of the real pain and considers it to be pain coming from the left hand. This is called referred pain. The heart and the nerves of the left hand are mainly connected to the spinal nerves called T1 to T4. When there is a lack of oxygen in the heart, the pain message through these nerves spreads to the entire left side, especially to the shoulder, arm and jaw.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Why is pain felt more on the left side?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The heart is slightly inclined towards the left side of the body, hence the effect of blockage or lack of oxygen in the heart muscle is felt more on that side. If there is blockage in the Left Anterior Descending (LAD) arteries of the heart, then this pain is felt directly on the left side. Doctors also call these window maker arteries, because complete blockage in them can be fatal.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>When to understand that this pain is a sign of heart attack?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Every time the pain in the left hand is not a heart attack, but if this pain lasts for more than a few minutes, feels like pressure or burning and does not go away even after resting, then you need to be alert. If this pain is accompanied by heaviness in the chest, shortness of breath, pain in the jaw, nausea or sweating, then seek medical help immediately. About one out of every four people has unusual symptoms during a heart attack. That is, they do not have chest pain, but pain in the left arm can be the only symptom.</p>

Dr. Vasily Eliopoulos, a board-certified emergency medicine doctor in New York, says plaque accumulation is not always permanent. He believes that if the root causes are addressed, the risks can be reduced and plaque can even be reversed.</p>

After this comes second high sensitive CRP and LP-PLA2, which show markers of inflammation that increase plaque. Thirdly, it is detected through CCTA scan, which shows where the plaque is forming and what type it is. In this way you can avoid any big problem.
