There was a stir on Tuesday when the dead body of an Indian diplomat was found in the Indian High Commission complex located in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Police have confirmed this incident. The deceased officer has been identified as Naren Dhar. He was working as Assistant Protocol Officer in the Indian High Commission.

Dead body found outside the bathroom

Dhaka Police spokesperson Aminur Rashid told reporters that Naren Dhar’s body was found early Tuesday in front of the door of a bathroom located on the second floor of the old visa center building of the Indian High Commission. He said that according to preliminary information, the deceased officer was working as an Assistant Protocol Officer in the Indian Mission. At present, no official comment has been made on this entire incident by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka and the Assistant High Commission in Chittagong.

There is a suspicion of heart attack

Police spokesperson Aminur Rashid said that prima facie it seems that Naren Dhar may have died due to a heart attack. However, he clearly said that the real cause of death can be confirmed only after the post mortem report comes. According to the police, Naren Dhar was originally a resident of Chandigarh. His age is said to be between 35 to 40 years.

The body was sent to the mortuary for postmortem.

After completing the investigation process, Naren Dhar’s body was sent to the mortuary of Chittagong Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. Police officials said that initial investigation did not indicate any external injury or suspicious activity. However, the real cause of death will be revealed only after the post mortem report comes.

A case of unnatural death will be registered

Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Deputy Commissioner (North Zone) Amirul Islam told ‘The Daily Star’ that a case of unnatural death will be registered in this matter. He said that after the post-mortem process is completed, the body will be handed over to the officials of the Indian Assistant High Commission.
