On Saturday (September 20, 2025) at many big airports in Europe, passengers faced a lot of trouble when a cyber attack stalled the check-in and boarding system. The impact of this attack was seen, especially at Heathro, Brussels and Berlin Airport in London, where thousands of passengers were affected due to delays and cancellations.

This cyber attack affected the services of Collines Aerospace, which provides check-in and boarding systems to airlines and airports around the world. The company confirmed that technical disturbances are related to cyber attack and said that their team is busy solving the problem as soon as possible.

Heathro Airport warns passengers
Heathro Airport in London warned the passengers that there was a possibility of delay in departure and they appealed to the people to continue to investigate the status of their flights. Automatic check-in and boarding at Brussels Airport were completely closed, due to which the employees had to do the process of passengers manually.

The airport administration admitted that it had a direct impact on the time of flights and many flights had to be canceled. Similarly, Berlin Airport released information on its website saying that due to the technical problem, passengers may have to wait long during check-in, although efforts are on to resolve the problem rapidly.

Poland and other airports are not affected
Meanwhile, some big airports in Europe reported relief. Germany’s Frankfurt Airport and Switzerland’s Zurich Airport continued to function normally and clarified that the attack on their services had no effect. Poland Deputy Prime Minister and Digital Affairs Minister Krisstof Gavkovski also issued a statement saying that there is no threat to his country’s airports. He said that the situation is constantly being monitored and Polish officials are in touch with other European countries.

Boeing 787-8 Dreamlineer: The British Airways’s Boeing Dreamliner aircraft going to Chennai faced a technical fault during the flight on Sunday, due to which it had to return to Heathro Airport in London by the middle way. The airline issued a statement saying that the aircraft landed safely and all passengers and crew members normally left the aircraft.

Aircraft returned as a precautionary measure
British Airways said that after receiving information about the technical problem, the aircraft was brought back under standard precautionary measures. However, the airline did not inform how many passengers and crew members were in the aircraft, how long the aircraft stayed in the air, or what was the right time to leave.

According to the flight tracking website flightradar24.com, the British Airways flight Ba35, which was operating from the Boeing 787-8 aircraft, left London at 12:40 pm local time and was to reach Chennai at 3:30 am. The aircraft remained in the air for about two hours, after which he returned to London.

A few days after the Ahmedabad accident
This incident has come to light at a time when a Boeing Dreamliner aircraft of Air India crashed in Ahmedabad recently. Investigations are also under investigation on the technical aspects of the aircraft in that incident. In such a situation, the return of British Airways flight is once again raising questions about aircraft safety.

Lufthansa’s flight also had to return
Meanwhile, the flight of Lufthansa, coming from Frankfurt in Germany from Frankfurt, also had to be sent back from the middle route. The Air Traffic Control (ATC) of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport received a message that the aircraft is returning to its original place to Frankfurt. According to the flight -ware website, the aircraft was Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which left Frankfurt at 2:15 pm on Sunday and had to reach Hyderabad at 1:20 pm on Monday night. A Hyderabad Airport official said that the decision was taken due to security reasons. According to the official, when the aircraft could not enter the Indian aircraft, then the bomb threat was reported. In terms of security, it was considered right to return the aircraft to Frankfurt.

London Airport: On Saturday (March 22, 2025) by Heathro Airport in London, it was reported that flights have started again after the power supply was disrupted and the airport is now completely operational. The statement issued by the airport said, ‘We can confirm that Heathro has opened today and is completely operational. Teams at the airport are making every effort to help the passengers affected by the failure of the power substation located outside the airport yesterday. We have added flights to today’s schedule for the convenience of additional 10,000 passengers traveling from the airport. Passengers have suggested to contact their airline for the latest information about their flight.

Heathro Airport CEO Thomas Woldboy said that he does not expect a large number of flights to delay and cancellation on Saturday, but the airlines will have to deal with the passengers who are trapped by the obstruction due to power cuts.

Anti -terrorism team investigating the cause of the fire

According to The Guardian report, the travel plan of 2,00,000 people is expected to be interrupted by the closure of one of the world’s busy airports. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Police (MAT) anti-terrorism officer is investigating the fire in the nearby power substation, due to which the airport was closed. He said that the anti -terrorism team is leading the investigation.

Cancelled after fire

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said that there is no indication of any disturbance at the moment but the officials are working with an open mind regarding the cause of the fire. According to the report by the news agency Xinhua, flights were canceled after two explosions and fire in an electric substation in Hayes, West London on Thursday night. People were evacuated from their homes and local schools were closed. Some aircraft were sent to other airports including London Gatvik Airport, Paris and Shannon Airport in Ireland.

Last year, the airport, which handled a record 83.9 million passengers, said its back-up diesel generators were working as expected but have not been designed to allow them to operate full. Britain’s energy regulator offgame announced that he would review the cause of the incident and what lessons can be learned from it.

Heathrow airport power outage: One of the world’s busiest airports has a big problem at Heathro Airport in London. Due to this crisis, all flight operations have been stopped from Heathro Airport for 24 hours. Since this airport is an important transit hub, thousands of passengers are stranded here and no one knows when the situation will be normal.

This crisis occurred due to a fire in the electricity sub-station of the airport. Due to this fire, the power supply of Heathro Airport was completely stalled. According to reports, electricity is expected to be restored by 11:59 pm, after which flight operations can be resumed. At present, due to power outage, all working activities at the airport have come to a standstill and passengers are facing a lot of trouble.

Large crisis due to fire at Heathro Airport

Flight operations have been severely affected by a fire at Heathro Airport in London. The airport administration has appealed to passengers not to come to the airport and advise them to take updates from their airlines continuously. In view of the power outage, all operations have been stopped to ensure the safety of passengers.

Passengers advise to contact airlines

The statement released on the official X (East Twitter) handle of Heathro Airport said that the power outage was caused by a fire in the power supply substation. The airport will remain closed till 11:59 pm on March 21 due to security reasons. The administration has asked the passengers not to come to the airport and contact your airline for further information. As well as sorry for inconvenience.

Hundreds of passengers were evacuated

According to a spokesman for Heathro Airport, firefighters are busy extinguishing the fire, but they are facing difficulties due to the high intensity of the fire. According to the London Fire Brigade, about 150 people have been taken out of the airport as a precaution so far.

Eurocontrol, an agency watching air traffic in Europe, has banned the landing of any flight at Heathro Airport. Flights are being diverted towards other airports due to air traffic disruptions.

According to the flight tracking website “Flight Radar 24”, Kantas Airways diverted the flight from its Perth to Paris. The United Airlines turned the flight from New York to Shannon, Ireland in another direction. At present, the situation at Heathro Airport remains serious and passengers have been advised to take updates from the airline till next information.
