Guidelines for schools in delhi: The heat outbreak in Delhi is continuously increasing. Keeping this in mind, the Directorate of Education (Health Branch) has issued a new guideline for all government, aided and private schools. This guideline is the expansion of the previous circular issued on 27 March 2025 and its main objective is to take care of the safety and health of the students.

First of all, there will be no afternoon assembly in schools. This decision has been taken due to strong sunlight and rising temperature so that children can avoid sunlight. Apart from this, no class will be taken in open grounds or grounds now. All classes will be inside the room only.

Prohibition of external activities

All types of external activities such as sports, races or other physical activities have been stopped during heatwave. Until the weather is normal, children will participate in the activities inside only.

Schools must ensure that clean and cold drinking water is available for children. All water coolers and RO systems should be in the right condition. Along with this, fans should run properly in all classes and the ventilation of the rooms must be good.

‘Staff or guardian does not sit in strong sunlight’

Students will be given a break from time to time to drink water so that they can avoid dehydration. In addition, fire extinguishers in all corridors should be in working state. Children will be motivated to use hats, scarf or umbrella to avoid sunlight. It is important to take care of any student, staff or guardian in the strong sun or stay outside, it is important to take care of it.

If a student has a disease related to heat, then ORS and first aid facility will be available in the school itself. It will be mandatory to give information about every such case to a nearby hospital or health center. The already implemented cleanliness and safety rules will also be followed strictly. All these measures have been done keeping in mind the safety and health of the students.
