The heavy rains in Rajasthan from the night of Friday (August 22) have disturbed life. Except Jaisalmer and Bikaner, a yellow alert of rain has been issued on Saturday (August 23) in almost all the districts.

In view of the situation, it has been decided to keep schools and colleges closed in about a dozen districts of the state today. The situation is said to be the most serious in Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Bundi and Bara districts.

Flood -like conditions, rescue work with the help of army

In many districts, a situation like waterlogging and floods has been created. The army has been deployed to evacuate people stranded in some villages of Kota district. Keshoraipatan area of ​​Bundi district recorded 212 mm of rain, after which the work of taking villagers and cattle to safe places is going on. District Council Chief Executive Officer Ravi Verma said that the team of Panchayat Raj Department, SDRF and Civil Defense is constantly engaged in relief work.

Preparation for relief work and administration

Due to heavy rains, crops were submerged in villages and many houses have been damaged. The administration has shifted people to schools and community buildings. Teams are constantly patrolling in Kota, Bundi and Sawai Madhopur to deal with the flood situation.

At present, the rain has stopped in these districts, but if there is heavy rains again on Saturday, then the situation may worsen.

According to officials, the district administration has started relief and rescue operations at a quick speed in areas affected due to continuous rains and overflows in Kota district.

To help the district administration, the team of 80 soldiers of the Infantry Regiment of the Army’s Gandiv Division reached Nimoda village of Digod Tehsil and started relief and rescue operations.

CM gave instructions to stay on alert mode

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has instructed the collector of all the districts and the concerned government staff to stay on alert mode. He said that enough resources should be prepared to deal with any situation.

The Meteorological Department has warned that many districts may receive heavy rains again in the next 24 hours. In such a situation, both the administration and the general public need to be vigilant.
