The weather patterns have started changing across the country. As the month of November is passing, the cold is also increasing. On one hand, the weather remains clear and dry during the day, while on the other hand, as the evening approaches, a drop in temperature is also seen. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of a cyclonic storm. According to IMD, the new weather system forming in the Bay of Bengal is becoming increasingly active and it may take the form of a major cyclonic threat in the coming days.

According to IMD, the low pressure area near Malaysia and the Strait of Malacca currently remains there and the cyclonic circulation associated with it is active up to a height of 7.6 kilometers. It is estimated that this system will move in the west-northwest direction and turn into a depression over the South Andaman Sea in the next 24 hours and after that it may intensify into a cyclonic storm over the South Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours.

Heavy rain in next 5 days
Due to the effect of this cyclonic system, heavy rains are going to start in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Coastal Andhra Pradesh in the next 5 days. A warning of very heavy rain has been issued in Tamil Nadu along with heavy rain from 25 to 27 November on 28, 29 and 30 November. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Kerala and Mahe till 26 November. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on 29 and 30 November.

No respite from poisonous air in Delhi
The weather has changed in Delhi due to change in wind direction. The minimum temperature in the capital once again fell below 10 degrees Celsius on Monday, while despite the full day’s sunshine, the maximum temperature of Delhi also remained below normal. Due to cold weather and low wind speed, the level of pollution is highest at night. There is no hope of relief from poisonous air for the next one week.

Cold is increasing in UP
The weather is changing rapidly in Uttar Pradesh and now gradually the cold is increasing at night. Coldness may increase in the coming days. Meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh said that the decline in temperature that has been going on for the last 2-3 days will continue for the next 48 hours. The weather may remain dry in the state on November 25. Similarly, on 26, 27 and 28 November, despite the clear weather in the state, there may be fog in the morning.

Now the minimum temperature has started falling in the state. In many districts the minimum temperature has fallen below 10 degrees Celsius. Barabanki, Kanpur Nagar, Etawah and Meerut have recorded a minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius, while Muzaffarnagar has recorded a minimum temperature of 9.8 degrees Celsius and Bareilly 9.9 degrees Celsius.
mercury dropped in bihar
In Bihar, the weather remains clear and dry during the day, while on the other hand, a drop in temperature is seen as the evening approaches. Fog is also being seen in many parts of the state. In the last 24 hours, dense fog was seen in 10 cities including Gopalganj, Begusarai. According to the Meteorological Department, the cold may increase further in the coming 3-4 days.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert in 6 states amid cold. People’s problems will increase due to further falling temperature due to rain. On the other hand, the fiercest form of cold wave will now be seen in North India. There is a possibility of a huge drop in temperature in Delhi, UP, Bihar and Himachal Pradesh.

rain warning
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in many areas of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Fishermen living on the sea shore have been asked to be careful during this period. Due to rain the temperature will decrease and cold will increase.

Delhi weather
There is a possibility of drop in temperature in Delhi from today. According to the Meteorological Department, today the minimum temperature is likely to drop to 10 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is likely to be 25 degrees Celsius. In the morning the wind will blow at a speed of 20 to 25 kilometers per hour.

Cold will increase further in UP
The cold is continuously increasing in Uttar Pradesh. Meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh said that the drop in temperature that has started in the state due to westerly winds is likely to continue for the next 2-3 days. During this period, the minimum temperature of the state may drop further by 2-3 degrees Celsius, which will further increase the cold.

Today on Monday (24 November) the weather is likely to remain dry in the state. Dense fog will be seen at some places in Western UP, while there will be shallow to moderate fog at some places in Eastern UP in the morning. The weather may remain clear in the state on 25, 26 and 27 November also. During this period, there is a possibility of shallow to moderate fog in both parts in the morning.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no active weather system in effect in UP right now. Despite this, the influence of westerly and north-western winds is so profound that dryness and coldness in the atmosphere is increasing rapidly. Despite the fog clearing during the day, light haze may persist.

Bihar weather
There will be a drop in maximum temperature in all the districts of Bihar on Monday. There is a possibility of wind blowing at a speed of 15 to 20 kilometers per hour in the morning. The Meteorological Department has asked people to be cautious during this period.

Scenes of devastation are visible due to heavy rains in Vietnam. A large part of the country is in a state of ruin. Landslides, floods and rains have disrupted life. There have been 90 deaths so far. About 1 lakh 86 thousand houses have been affected. It is being told that 30 lakh cattle have been washed away in the flood currents. According to the report of ‘The Guardian’, there has been a loss of 2 billion dollars. Scientists say that the risk of disasters has increased since climate change.

Officials have confirmed that 90 people have died in this disaster. A large number of people are trapped on the rooftops and in the upper parts of the mountains. It has been raining in Vietnam since October. The situation in the south central areas is very worrying. Vietnam is a holiday spot, due to which the country has suffered economic losses worth crores of rupees. Here the government is providing all possible help to the affected areas.

The Environment Ministry here has said in its statement that out of 90 deaths, maximum 60 deaths have occurred in Dak Lak area. Flood has caused much devastation in this area. The government is keeping an eye on the situation, and is providing all necessary relief materials. At the same time, the local people have remembered the era of 1993. However, this time the situation is worse than before.

Never seen such destruction before..
The situation is so horrific that local people have told the media that the country has seen such devastation for the first time. One person told that when he recorded the highest water level, it reached only till his ankles. But now its range is one meter above. The situation is scaring every day. If the situation continues like this in the future, the country will face a food crisis.

In 2025, on one hand, Cyclone Montha is active in the Bay of Bengal, while on the other hand, Hurricane Melissa is also active in the Atlantic Ocean. Both are powerful ocean storms, which are creating destructive conditions like strong winds, torrential rains and possible floods. When a storm of wind rises over an ocean and starts tearing the sky with its speed, the question arises that what is its strength? This is not just a matter of fear or guesswork, but its strength is determined scientifically.

Every storm has its own ‘class’, which tells whether it is going to bring light rain or submerge the entire city. Let us know how the strength of a storm is estimated.

How to measure the strength of a storm

Scientists around the world use two major scales to measure the strength of hurricanes, the first is the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale, which is mainly applicable to the Americas, the Caribbean and the Atlantic Ocean. The second is the V-scale, which has been adopted in India, the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea areas.

What is the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale?

This scale ranges from 1 to 5 depending on the maximum sustained wind speed of any storm. In Category 1, the wind speed is around 119 to 153 kilometers per hour, it can cause minor damage. In Category 2, winds reach 154 to 177 km/hour. In this, roofs can blow away, trees can break. From Category 3 (178–208 km/h) the damage becomes serious. Category 4 (209–251 km/h) and Category 5 (above 252 km/h) are the levels where everything turns into disaster. This scale not only gives an idea of the speed of the wind but also its impact i.e. possible property damage.

Varicel used in India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) uses the varicella scale to measure the strength of storms. This scale is also divided into five categories – from V1 to V5. V1 represents the mildest storm, while V5 is the most dangerous. Storms in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea are measured on this scale. The idea behind this is that the marine conditions and climate in these areas are different from those of the western oceans, so a different parameter was necessary to suit local conditions.

How are data collected

Scientists estimate the center of the storm and its wind speed with the help of satellite images, weather buoys and aerial surveys. The data received from radar shows the direction and speed at which the winds are moving. This data decides in which category the storm will be placed.

The weather of Bihar has once again seen a big change. On Wednesday, suddenly there was black clouds in the sky and torrential rains were recorded in many districts. The rains in many places including Patna, Arwal, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Sitamarhi and Madhubani shocked the people.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a similar season to continue for the next few days. According to the department, there is a possibility of heavy to heavy rains in the entire state till 7 October. During this time, there will be a drop in temperature, but due to the speed of the wind, people need to be cautious.

Heavy rains in these districts today

On the day of Dussehra i.e. today, alert of heavy rain has been issued in many districts. Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj and Araria will see the most impact. At the same time, there is a possibility of torrential rains in a total of 19 districts including Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Vaishali, Jamui and Banka. Apart from this, light to moderate rain may occur in Patna, Jehanabad, Kaimur and Gaya districts. The Meteorological Department also told that where there will be no rain, there will be cloudy and the effect of humidity can bother people.

The entire weather of October will be changed

Meteorologists say that this time the month of October can prove to be more rain than normal. Most of the districts will be likely to rain in the initial fortnight. The minimum temperature will be around 25 ° C on an average, while the maximum temperature can only be from 30 to 35 ° C. Parts of southwest Bihar will see normal temperature, but the temperature in the rest of the state is expected to be lower than normal.

People will have to take care

In view of the strong wind and thunderclap, the Meteorological Department has advised people to remain alert. It has been instructed to stay away from open grounds, trees and electric poles. Especially farmers and people working outside should be cautious. Rain can also increase the risk of water logging and traffic hindrance in many places.
