The pilgrimage of the famous Mata Vaishno Devi temple located in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir has been postponed till further orders due to continuous rains. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board gave information about this on X on Saturday (13 September). The yatra was scheduled to start again on Sunday (September 14) after being postponed for 19 days, but due to the weather it has been stopped at the moment.

On August 26, there was a landslide on the route leading to Mata Vaishno Devi, in which 34 devotees were killed and 20 others were injured. The pilgrimage was immediately postponed after this accident.

After this, the board decided a few days ago that the yatra will start again from 14 September. But due to continuous rains and bad weather, it had to be stopped again due to the security of the temple and the building.

Shrine board gave information on social media

The Shrine Board wrote on X, “Jai Mata Di! Due to continuous rains on the building and track, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra starting from September 14 has been postponed till further orders. The devotees are requested to be updated through official communication mediums of Jammu and Kashmir LG and PR.”

Jai Mata Di!
Due to Incessant Rain at Bhawan & The Track, Commencement of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra Scheduled From 14th Sept Stands Postponed Till Further Order.
,

Devotees’ troubles increased

This news is disappointing for the devotees, because many people had planned to see Vaishno Devi along with their family and friends. Some devotees are already in confusion due to the postponement of the yatra. The Shrine Board has requested the devotees not to wait for the official update and do not pay attention to the rumors.

Will start again according to the weather

The board said that as soon as the weather is clear and the route will be completely safe, the journey will be resumed. Shrine Board officials also informed that the necessary maintenance work on the route is going on continuously so that the safety of the devotees can be ensured.

The journey has been postponed earlier also

This is not the first time that Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra has been postponed due to weather or other reasons. Last year too, pilgrims had to face temporary restrictions due to heavy rains and snowfall. Officials say that the safety of passengers is paramount, so it is necessary to take such precautions.

The heavy rains in Surat and Vadodara districts of Gujarat have spoiled the situation. The water level of Narmada and Kim River is facing the risk of floods. The administration has advised people of low -lying areas to be vigilant.

Umrapada and Mangrol taluka in Surat district have been the most affected. In the last 24 hours, Umerpada recorded 8.5 inches and Mangrol recorded 4 inches of rain. Due to heavy rains, the water level of Kim river went above the danger mark.

The river water has entered the Padar area of Mota Borsara village in Mangrol, due to which the road connectivity of many villages has been lost. Due to waterlogging, the local people are facing heavy problems in traffic and everyday activities.

Flood threat deepened in Vadodara district

The rising water level of the Narmada River in Vadodara district has become a cause of concern. After the release of 4.5 lakh cusecs of water from Sardar Sarovar Dam, the danger of floods in the low -lying areas of the river has deepened.

The 92 stairs of Malhar Rao Ghat in Chanod have completely merged into the water. Although the Narmada River has not yet reached the danger mark, the continuous rains have made the situation more serious.

Rain increased difficulties

Heavy rains in Dabhoi in Vadodara district have also increased difficulties. It recorded 5 inches of rain from midnight to seven in the morning. Traffic is disrupted due to waterlogging and many low -lying areas are flooded. The administration has issued a warning and appealed people to visit safe places and take precautions.

Water level crossed 24 feet

Things are also worrying in Bharuch district. Sarpanch Pankaj Patel of Borbhatha Bet village informed that the water level has crossed 24 feet after the release of 5 lakh cusecs of water in the Narmada river. If the water level increases further, there is a possibility of flooding in the surrounding villages.

Meanwhile, rain continues in other parts of South Gujarat. The life of the common man has been affected by the continuous rains. Experts believe that if the intensity of rain does not decrease, then the situation may become more serious in the coming days.

Normal life is being severely affected due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand. Traffic has been disrupted due to debris, boulder and landlords on the Yamunotri and Badrinath highways. The water level of the Yamuna river in the Sainachatti region increased so much that the water started flowing over the motor bridge, due to which the bridge has reached a condition of danger.

The rain water entered many hotels so much that it is coming from one side and leaving from the other side. The first floors of many hotels have been submerged, causing panic among the local people. Local residents Jaipal Singh Rawat, Navdeep Singh, Baldev Singh and Shailendra Singh Rana said that they spent the whole night, because the flow of water could harm at any time.

Road closed in many places due to debris

At present, the rain has stopped and the weather is clear, but the danger is still not averted. The road has been blocked due to heavy debris in Kamda area near Paganala, Bhanerpani, Nandprayag and Gauchar on the Badrinath highway. There are long queues of vehicles on both sides of the highway, and the pilgrims are waiting for the way to open.

The work of removing debris has been started by the administration and movement has started at some places, but debris is still stored on the hill side, which can shut down the route at any time. Pilgrims from Gujarat said that it took them 16 hours to cover the distance from Srinagar to Pipalkoti, as the Badrinath road is in a very dangerous situation.

Mountains are constantly craving

Apart from this, the highway is also completely closed in areas like Kamera and Simli-Gwaladam-Almora Highway near Gauchar, Nauli, Ming Gadera and Kaal Jabar. Due to continuous rains, mountains are cracking and big piles of debris have accumulated on the roads.

District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari said that the work of removing debris in all the affected areas and opening roads is going on a war footing. It is the effort of the administration that normal traffic was restored as soon as possible

Heavy losses in these areas

The weather in Uttarakhand is overshadowing the normal life. Mountainous districts like Tehri and Rudraprayag have caused widespread damage due to excess rainfall, while the Meteorological Department has warned that Uttarakhand is not going to get any relief from rain at the moment.

During the month of August, the continuous rains in the entire state have created a disaster -like situation in many areas. On August 30, in Dehradun, Uttarkashi and Bageshwar districts, there is a possibility of shining lightning with heavy to very heavy rains and roaring.

Orange alert issued in these districts

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for these three districts. At the same time, Tehri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pithoragarh and Pauri Garhwal district have predicted heavy rains somewhere.

Yellow alert will continue for the remaining 11 districts with Orange Alerts in Dehradun and Bageshwar on 31 August. On September 1, there will be orange alert in Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Nainital and Bageshwar districts, while Yellow alert will continue for the rest of the districts. Orange alert has been issued on September 2 in Chamoli, Bageshwar and Dehradun due to heavy rains.

Meteorological Department asked to be vigilant

According to the Meteorological Department, Yellow alert means to keep an eye on the rain and be cautious. Orange alert means to increase vigilance in view of the danger caused by rain and be prepared for necessary action. In the event of red alert, immediate security measures should be taken.

In the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of heavy and heavy rain in various areas of Bageshwar, Chamoli, Dehradun and Rudraprayag districts like Chakrata, Doiwala, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Sonprayag, Joshimath, Tharali, Kapkot, Vikasnagar.
