He writes in the book, ‘Unfortunately, it was only after my father’s death that we realized that we were in dire financial straits and had to pay a lot of outstanding taxes.’ At that time Hema needed a lot of money. The only easy way to earn this money was to do more and more films because at that time the actors did not even get that much fees. But in this matter, Hema Malini had to do B-grade films, because no big banner was ready to bet on her at that time.

It was the worst period of my life,
Regarding this, Hema Malini has written in the book, ‘This was the worst phase of my life, which lasted for 10 years. I had to repay my debts and had nothing except these films. I was making my living through dance shows, but most of the money came from films only.
