At least 13 people have been killed in an Israeli airstrike near a Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon. The country’s Health Ministry has confirmed this. Israel claimed that its targets were Hamas members, while Hamas has described these allegations as ‘lies and fabricated stories’.

Israel claims- ‘Hamas training camp targeted’
The Israeli Army (IDF) said that it targeted a ‘training compound’ of Hamas located in the Ein el-Hilweh area. According to him, this place was being used to plan and execute attacks on Israel. Hamas responded by saying that this claim is completely ‘fabricated’ and that they do not have any military bases in the Palestinian camps.

Treatment of injured continues, chaos in the camp
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said that apart from those who died, at least 4 people were injured. In the video that surfaced on social media, it was seen that ambulances were passing rapidly through the narrow streets of Ain al-Hilwe camp and a huge plume of smoke was rising from the area. According to reports, the attack took place outside a mosque, which is usually crowded with people at night.

What allegation did Hamas make?
Hamas condemned the attack, saying that the site targeted by Israel was actually an “open playground” and not a military base. The IDF says it used ‘precision weapons, aerial surveillance and additional intelligence’ to protect civilians from harm before the attack.

Israel-Hamas-Hezbollah conflict intensifies from 2023
On October 7, 2023, Hamas attacked southern Israel from Gaza, killing 1,200 people and taking 251 hostage. ‘Will not allow Hezbollah to become powerful’

Israeli government spokesman Shosh Bedrosian said Thursday, “We will not allow Hezbollah to re-arm, to organize, to increase its strength to threaten Israel.” The attack came as Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and his government were meeting in Beirut to hammer out a plan to disarm Hezbollah and other non-governmental armed groups in the country.

Hezbollah’s letter to Lebanese authorities

On the other hand, Hezbollah has written a letter to the top officials of Lebanon. In this letter, Hezbollah has urged to force Israel to follow the rules of ceasefire instead of negotiating. Hezbollah has written this letter to the Prime Minister, President and Speaker of Parliament.

Hezbollah has said that the government’s hasty decision regarding the arms monopoly has given Israel an opportunity to take advantage of the situation. The issue of weapons should be discussed within the country. Should not have succumbed to Israeli or any other foreign demands regarding weapons.

Under the ceasefire plan presented by US President Trump, not only the release of hostages and prisoners but also the surrender of arms was agreed upon. The important issue in this entire peace plan was to lay down arms. Israel says that if weapons are not removed from these groups, the attacks will start again.

Hezbollah has issued an open letter addressed to Lebanon’s President, Prime Minister and Speaker of Parliament, in which it urges the government to force Israel to abide by the ceasefire agreement instead of disarming it.

‘Lebanon should not get involved in political talks with Israel’

“Lebanon should focus on implementing a ceasefire with Israel and forcing it to abide by it, rather than engaging in political negotiations with the enemy (Israel),” Hezbollah wrote.

Hezbollah has also raised questions on the decision related to monopoly on weapons. He says that this decision was taken in haste, due to which Israel got the benefit of the situation. The letter read, “The decision to monopolize arms worked in Israel’s interest, because it made our disarmament an issue as a condition for breaking the ceasefire.”

‘The issue of arms should not be decided by foreign pressures’

The letter further said that the arms issue should not be decided under any foreign pressure or Israeli blackmail, but within the national framework. This letter from Hezbollah has come to light at a time when despite the ceasefire agreement of November 2024, Israeli attacks continue on the borders of Lebanon. The United Nations Interim Force (UNIFIL) has also recently confirmed an increase in Israeli attacks by land, air and sea, which has once again increased tensions in the region.

Under the ceasefire deal of 27 November 2024, Hezbollah was to vacate southern Lebanon and the Lebanese Army was to be deployed there. Israel was also supposed to retreat, but Tel Aviv says it is taking action against the bases where weapons are being stored, which it considers a violation of the ceasefire.

Netanyahu said Israeli forces would continue to protect troops in Gaza, and said Israel would inform its US allies about the operations “but would not ask for their permission.” He said that Israel will not compromise with its ‘biggest security responsibility’. Gaza health officials said on Sunday that at least 236 Palestinians have been killed and 600 wounded by Israeli shelling since the ceasefire began three weeks ago, bringing the total number of deaths since October 7, 2023 to 68,865.

At the same time, the IDF has confirmed that it carried out an attack on the night of Saturday (November 01, 2025), in which a senior officer and three other members of Hezbollah’s elite forces were killed. On the other hand, regarding this attack, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said that four people were killed and three were injured in the Israeli air strike in Nabatiyeh district on Saturday night. According to Lebanese media, an Israeli missile fell on a car at around 10:30 pm.

Logistics chief the main target of IDF attack

Regarding the attack carried out in southern Lebanon on Saturday, the IDF said that the main target of the attack in Kafr Rommane was the force’s logistics chief. However, the Israel Defense Forces did not name the man, but said he was involved in arms transfers and efforts to re-establish terrorist structures in southern Lebanon.

The IDF says the three other people killed in the attack were also members of the force and that their actions violated the ceasefire. Lebanese media has named the four as Jawad Jaber, Hadi Hamid, Abdullah Kahil and Muhammad Kahil.
