On Saturday, Punjab Kings made the record of the biggest run chase in the Indian Premier League. Batting first, Delhi Capitals scored 264 runs. Delhi had made its biggest score in IPL and somewhere everyone would hope that Punjab is finally going to get its first defeat in IPL 2026.

First Prabhsimran Singh created havoc for Punjab Kings, who scored 76 runs in 26 balls. After him, captain Shreyas Iyer played a stormy inning of 71 runs in 36 balls, helping Punjab in the biggest run chase and creating history. 7 biggest run chases in IPL

Punjab Kings have broken their own run chase record by scoring 265 runs against Delhi Capitals. Actually, in the 2024 season, Punjab team had chased the target of 262 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders. Punjab is the only team which has chased a target of 250 or more in IPL and has done so twice.

Sunrisers Hyderabad is in third place, which had chased the target of 247 runs against Punjab Kings in the year 2025. Last season itself, Royal Challengers Bangalore had won against Lucknow Super Giants by chasing a target of 230. 2008 champion Rajasthan Royals has chased a target of more than 220 runs twice, while Mumbai Indians’ biggest run chase so far is 224 runs, which they did against Kolkata Knight Riders this year.
