A day after this appointment, outgoing President Pratibha Singh said on Sunday (23 November) that this appointment was made keeping in mind the regional and caste equations. Pratibha Singh said that Vinay Kumar will connect with the youth. He said that this appointment has been done thoughtfully. What did Congress say on the selection of state president?

According to sources, the Congress also said that the party expressed confidence in a young leader from the reserved category to lead the state with a sizeable population of Dalits. Vinay Kumar was the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly and resigned from his post, which was accepted by Speaker Kuldeep Pathania on Saturday (November 22).

Vinay Kumar, a three-time Dalit MLA from Renukaji assembly seat in Sirmaur district, was born in a farmer Koli family of Renukaji. His father Prem Singh had also been MLA from Renukaji seat four times before his death in 2011.

The appointment was pending for a long time

This appointment was pending for a long time, as there was no State Congress Committee in the hill state after the dissolution of the previous committee headed by Singh on November 6 last year. As the state unit of Congress remained inactive for more than a year, only Pratibha Singh remained as the president of the state unit of the party.

Pratibha Singh said, “I hope that Kumar will take everyone along and will live up to the expectations of Congress workers.” She said, “I will meet Kumar tomorrow and tell him that the party will benefit by taking everyone along.” I also hope that senior leaders will be given their proper place in the organization.

The senior leader said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had said that young leaders should be given a chance and Kumar is a good choice to connect with the youth. Kumar served as the Chief Parliamentary Secretary from December 2012 to December 2017 and the Chairman of Renuka Development Board from 2013 to 2017. Vinay Kumar was also appointed the working president of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee in April 2022.

In Himachal Pradesh, the decision to make new recruitments from Group A to C as trainee has termed the biggest deception with the youth and said that when the Congress was to come to power, false promises were made to give 58 years of paved jobs.

Regarding the liabilities of HRTC drivers operators, Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri said that the salary and pension of HRTC drivers is being given on time, but some financial liabilities are pending which will be resolved by interacting with MD HRTC.

CM Sukhu said that we also constituted an inquiry committee under the chairmanship of Omkar Sharma. We filed an FIR, but the report was delayed. Minister Rajesh Dharmani was also sent to Kinnaur to meet Vimal Negi’s family, but could not meet due to the family being outside the village.

The CM admitted that a mutual tussle of police officers has come to light while giving the report in the High Court. Before filing an affidavit in the DGP court, I met me and asked to change the SIT. I denied and said that a better case should be handed over to the CBI. The police submitted a separate report in the court and the DGP gave a separate affidavit. The indiscipline of the officials will not tolerate the government.

Jairam Thakur targeted

The Chief Minister said that in the report of Additional Chief Secretary, many allegations were reported about the Pkhubela project, but those who accused them should not have known their favor. Therefore, the report was asked to take legal opinion. Due to which the report was delayed. But BJP was busy in getting the media trial done by doing politics. Jairam Thakur should talk on reality, the public should not mislead. Repeated lying does not change the truth.

Whether it is BPL survey, autonomy of panchayats, employee interest, women honor or public facilities, the government has taken anti -people decisions on every front.

Accused of depriving BPL list

Bikram Thakur said that the government has fixed the annual income of ₹ 50,000 to join the BPL list, but this standard is being implemented only on families already listed in the list. The actual income of poor families making new applications is being deliberately depicted at the tehsil level above ₹ 50,000, so that they can be denied BPL list.

He raised the question that if a poor family has found a pucca room under the housing scheme of the previous BJP government, is it now out of the category of poverty? The government should clarify that the poor who take advantage of the scheme are no longer entitled to stay in the BPL list? The maximum limit of land from two hectare to one hectare is a proof of the poor anti -mentality of the government.

Bikram Thakur alleged that the government had abolished the financial and administrative powers of the panchayats. Now bypassing the decisions of the Gram Sabha, the officials have been given the right to decide who will be in the BPL list. Withdrawing the interest of the panchayat fund, ordering the reversal within three days on the unappointed amount and taking away the income of property tax – all this shows that the government wants to fully weaken the panchayats.

Village employment servants posted in the gram panchayats of the state have not received salary for the last three months. Sewing teachers, panchayat chowkidars and other honorary employees are also waiting for payment for the last five months. There are about 900 posts of Chowkidars, which the government did not run any process to fill. The chowkidars who completed the 10 -year term, are not being made even daily wage bhogi. Bikram Thakur said that today Pradhan himself has to work as a watchman – the more shameful situation has never been in the Panchayati Raj system.
