Former Union Minister and BJP MP from Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency Anurag Singh Thakur has made a scathing attack on the Congress government of Himachal Pradesh regarding the law and order situation in Himachal Pradesh. Expressing concern, he said that due to the failed policies of the government, today the morale of criminals is high and the land of Gods which was considered peaceful is now turning into a land of crime.

Huge jump in crime figures: Citing official figures, the MP said that the graph of crimes in the state is increasing rapidly. A total of 17,385 cases were registered across the state in the year 2025, while in 2024 the number was 16,393, which shows an increase of more than 6% in the total crimes. The most frightening situation is regarding women’s safety and drug addiction. There has been a record increase of 28% in drug trafficking cases, where 1,967 cases were registered in 2025 compared to 1,537 cases in 2024.

‘Law and order completely collapsed’

MP Anurag Thakur said that there has been an increase of 19.02% in rape cases (from 305 to 363 cases) and 17.7% increase in kidnapping incidents has also been recorded. He said in strong words, “Criminals are committing crimes without any fear and are playing the flute of peace under the influence of responsible power. The spate of criminal incidents in Himachal is an open challenge to the Iqbal government.”

Demand for high level investigation into Pallavi murder case

Expressing grief over the tragic demise of Dharamshala’s daughter Pallavi, the MP described it as a very painful incident. He expressed condolences to the bereaved family and demanded the government to conduct a high-level and impartial investigation into the matter and take strict action against the culprits.

In conclusion, he said that the Congress government has proved to be a failure on every front. Today, the feeling of insecurity prevailing among the common citizens is worrying, which makes it clear that the government has completely failed to control the mafia.

He alleged that not only this, pressure is being made on the Deputy Chief Minister regarding the proposed ropeway in Shimla. He said that a few days ago, the Chief Minister had sent a minister to a private helicopter by taking ropeway files. The BJP leader alleged, “Not only this, tenders are being given to their cheers in the drug park too. The Chief Minister is transferring officers without consulting ministers. Everything is not going well in the government. There can be a blast in Congress anytime. Kangana ranaut targets vikramaditya singh: The actress -turned -political leader Kangana Ranaut on Sunday, taking a sarcasm at Himachal Pradesh Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, said that she has still not accepted her defeat in the Lok Sabha elections.

Mandi MP Ranaut attacked Vikramaditya Singh and his mother and state Congress President Pratibha Singh indirectly said that there is competition in politics, but the boundaries should not be crossed. He said that no one should repeatedly throw mud on others nor use abusive language.

Ranaut while talking to reporters in Mandi said that Vikramaditya Singh is not able to accept his defeat in the Lok Sabha elections due to being ‘Raja Babu’. Vikramaditya Singh, son of Virbhadra Singh, a six -time Chief Minister, is a member of the royal family of the previous Rampur princely state.

‘MP could not spend one rupee of fund’

Ranaut said that former MP of Mandi Pratibha Singh and her family ‘rule’ on the region for the last 40 years, but could not spend one rupee of MP funds in the area.

He accused Pratibha Singh that she failed to favor the people of the region even once in the Lok Sabha. Ranaut shared his attitude and challenges for the development of Mandi and said that basic issues like railways, electricity and communication are being raised.

The BJP MP said that the mandi is a huge and diverse geographical area and there is a lot of development potential, but the mandi also has to face challenges like natural disasters. He said that transport and communication facilities in remote areas like Bharmour and Pangi are still not enough. Ranaut said that the construction of tunnels for these areas and roads suitable for all seasons has been demanded for a long time and these issues are being raised in Parliament.
