Help sent from Punjab Kings

Preity Zinta has sent financial assistance of Rs 30 lakh from IPL franchise Punjab Kings. This amount has been released for relief work of damage done in Mandi and Kullu. Preeti Zinta has sent through the organization of Sarbjit Singh Bobby of Shimla.

Sarvajit Singh Bobby has thanked Preity Zinta for this cooperation and said that my sister Preity Zinta has contributed Rs 30 lakh for the relief work in Mandi and Kullu. Disaster affected villages of district Kullu still need the most help. Banjar Sainz and other affected areas of Kullu district have been focused on, people are still waiting for help. Bobby said that he has announced the help of Rs 50 lakhs, to get help of 30 lakhs from Preity Zinta, it has been increased to one crore.

Heavy losses also occurred in these places

Cloudbursts in Churah, Kullu and Banjar were washed away by bridge and apple gardens were damaged. Fish farms, two temples and six gharat were swept away in floods in Hidav drain of Banjar. 1.10 lakh cusecs of water was released from Pong Dam on Saturday, which increased the threat in lower areas.

Right now 839 roads are closed, 728 transformers stalled and 456 drinking water schemes are affected in the state. On Saturday, many areas including Shimla received heavy rains. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in Chamba, Kangra and Kullu districts.

CM said on disaster on Manimahesh Yatra

On the other hand, during the journey of Manimahesh ji, the horrific kill of nature put the devotees in crisis. The torrential rains on 28, 29 and 30 August 2025 caused large-scale landslides at several places on the Chamba-Bhrama route, causing thousands of pilgrims to be trapped in the midst of the journey. In this emergency, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) started a relief and rescue operation while taking care of the front.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that no devotee has died in the disaster during the Manimahesh Yatra. The process of evacuating all passengers is going on. There is also a preparation to bring devotees to Chamba by helicopter. CM said that there will be no shortage of funds in relief and reconstruction work.

Meanwhile, an ambulance fell into a ditch on Kiratpur-Manali Fourlane in Mandi district. The driver was injured in the accident, but a major loss of loss was averted. Many vehicles were buried under rubble due to heavy landslides in Vikasnagar, Shimla.

NDRF running a continuous rescue operation

The special team led by the guidance of Baljinder Singh, Commandant of the 14th NDRF Battalion and the special team led by Inspector Deepak Singh Aswal reached the Chamba District Deputy Commissioner Office on August 30 and started rescue work at various landslide sites. On the same day, 192 devotees were evacuated from ash 192, 167 from Bagga first phase and 270 from Bagga Night Operation (Second Phase). That is, on August 30, 629 pilgrims were brought out safely.

After this, on August 31, a continuous operation was carried out at Bagga Sliding Point. In the campaign till date, a total of 830 pilgrims have been rescued while doing relief work at sensitive places like Bagga and Dharwala.

Thus, the lives of 1459 devotees were saved in two days. Landslides and bad weather prevention work is extremely challenging, but NDRF teams are active in hard geographical conditions day and night.

Himachal Pradesh Heavy Rainfall Warning: In Himachal Pradesh, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain for Monday. Orange alert has been declared in 10 districts of the state, which includes all the districts except Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti. The department has expressed apprehension that due to continuous rains, there may be incidents of waterlogging, landslides, floods and falling trees in many districts. However, amid the warning, the capital Shimla has been sunny since morning.

Tomorrow, on July 8, there will be orange alert in Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Chamba and Kangra districts while Yellow alert will be held in Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur. On July 9, western disturbances are likely to weaken and only yellow alerts have been issued in the entire state. In view of the weather patterns, the deputy commissioner of all the districts has appealed people to live in safe places and take extra precautions.

572 crore loss has been damaged
There have been 78 deaths in Himachal since monsoon so far. 121 people have been injured 37 people are still missing. There has been a loss of 572 crores. 243 roads are closed in the state. 241 transformers are stalled. Water supply of 278 drinking water schemes is disrupted. 10253 animal birds have swept away, including ten thousand poultry birds alone in Una district. 163 houses have been completely destroyed, 178 houses have been damaged, 346 gaushalas are booked.

37 people are still missing
The 78 people died during the monsoon season (20 June to 6 July). These include landslide of 1, flash flood of 8, cloudburst of 14, drowning of 8, 1 fire of 1, 2 snake bite of 2, power current of 4, falling from a height of 8 and 4 deaths. Apart from this, 28 people have lost their lives in road accidents while 37 people are still missing.

Air Force is engaged in delivering ration to disaster -prone areas
Mandi district has been the most affected, where the bodies of 14 people have been recovered so far in the tragedy which came on the night of 30 June and 28 people are still missing. The Indian Army, SDRF and administration are engaged in relief and rescue operations. 225 houses in Mandi, 243 cowsheds have been completely destroyed.

Army personnel and rescue teams are making every effort in Mandi so that help can be provided to the affected families. The helicopter of the Air Force is engaged in delivering ration to the disaster -prone areas.
