Assam CM Oath Ceremony Live Streaming: All preparations have been completed for Himanta Biswa Sarma to take oath as Chief Minister for the second consecutive time. With this swearing-in on Tuesday, the third consecutive term of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance government in Assam will begin. This ceremony will be held at Khanapara Veterinary College grounds, where at 11:40 am Laxman Prasad Acharya will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the Chief Minister and the new Council of Ministers.

Assam Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya appointed BJP leader Himanta Vishwa Sharma as the Chief Minister, Sharma will take oath on May 12 at 11.40 am. BJP’s Ajanta Neog, Rameshwar Teli, AGP chief Atul Bora and BPF’s Charan Boro will take oath as ministers on May 12. Former minister Ranjit Kumar Das will be NDA’s candidate for the post of Assam Assembly Speaker.

Many senior leaders including Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman and Sarbananda Sonowal can be present in this program. Besides, more than 40 Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from across the country are also likely to participate.

This will be the NDA’s third consecutive term in the state after coming to power for the first time in 2016 under the leadership of Sarbananda Sonowal. This time the alliance won a record 102 seats in the 126-member assembly, in which BJP alone got a clear majority by securing 82 seats, while Assam Gana Parishad and Bodoland People’s Front got 10 seats each.

NDA’s third term

After swearing in, the new government will put forward its priorities. These will include land rights, encroachment removal campaigns and accelerating development works. Chief Minister Sarma has already made it clear that “caste, soil and daughter” will be the priority of his government, and major steps will be taken regarding land conservation in the state.

To make this function grand, workers have been called from all over the state and more than one lakh people are expected to participate. Overall, this swearing-in is being considered not only as a change of power, but also as the beginning of a strong political message and new policy direction in Assam.
