The tradition of changing the daily flag of Jagannath temple has been playing for years. It is said that this tradition shows respect and devotion to God. On the summit of the temple, a priest climbs as a 45 floor as a day and this flag changes.

Religious belief is that if the Jagannath temple forgets not to change the flag for a day, then this temple will be closed for 18 years to come. In the meantime, if the doors of the temple are opened, then the Holocaust can also come.

The old flag is believed to pull negative energy, so it is removed. It is also believed that the flag is a symbol of the presence of Lord Jagannath.

If this flag is old or exploded due to some reason, or it is absent, then that divine energy is interrupted. Therefore, it is necessary to change it before sunset every day.

The flag of Jagannath temple challenges science. The flag in the direction in which the air is in that direction but waves in the opposite direction. Why and how this happens is a mystery in itself, this phenomenon is also a matter of surprise for scientists.

This year the Jagannath Yatra has started from June 27. Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra Devi have departed towards Gundicha Temple. This journey will end on 5 July.
