Honey singh: Famous singer and rapper Honey Singh has got a big relief from the Delhi High Court. The High Court has rejected the petition filed against his song ‘Maniyak’.

Petitioner Lavkush Kumar alleged that women have been sexually abused using Bhojpuri language in this song and promoted vulgarity.

What did Delhi High Court say?

The bench of Delhi High Court Chief Justice DK Upadhyay and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela made strict remarks during the hearing, saying that there is no religion of vulgarity. It is an obscenity unconditionally. Bhojpuri language should not be seen by connecting vulgarity.

The petitioner’s counsel argued that the lyrics of the song present women as a sexual object and have used double -meaning words, which promotes gender discrimination.

Why did Delhi High Court be dismissed?

The Delhi High Court said that this petition is not hearing, as it sought relief against a private person. The court clarified that the writ can only be issued against the state or any of its equipment, not against any private person.

Court suggested to register FIR

However, the court suggested to the petitioner that if they feel that it is a legal offense, they can file an FIR against it. The court said if it is a crime and is cognizable .. then file an FIR. If the police do not register an FIR, then adopt further legal process.

Petition was withdrawn from court, relief to Honey Singh

After this comment of the court, Lavkush Kumar withdrew his petition from the Delhi High Court. Honey Singh has brought great relief from this decision and there will be no ban on his song ‘Maniyak’.
