Iran has told Yemen’s Houthis to close the Bab al-Mandeb gateway to the Red Sea if the US attacks Iran’s power network. The Bab el-Mandeb Strait connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. This route is the most important trade route between Asia and Europe. If this route is closed then there will be a danger of a huge recession in international trade.

Crude oil prices increased after Iran’s threat

After this threat from Iran, the price of crude oil has increased by more than 1 percent. The price of Brent crude oil has increased by 93 cents (1.09%) to reach 85.88 dollars per barrel. At the same time, the price of WTI crude increased by 89 cents (1.12%) to $ 80.49 per barrel. According to the report of news agency Reuters, Iran has asked Yemen’s Houthi group to be ready to close the Red Sea oil route.

Houthi leader warned Israel-US

According to financial market experts, if the supply of oil through both the Red Sea’s Bab al-Mandeb Gateway and the Strait of Hormuz is stopped, there will be huge pressure on the supply chain across the world. Not only this, the insurance premium of ships will also increase significantly. Yemen’s Houthi leader said that America and Israel are promoting hatred and enmity in the world. Sayyid Abdul-Malik al-Houthi has blamed Saudi Arabia for promoting American and Israeli intentions.

The Houthi leader said, ‘America and Israel do not respect international agreements and UN resolutions, but are engaged in conspiracy for genocide and destruction of civilizations. Saudi Arabia helps America, Israel and Britain to weaken the Muslim community.

Iran’s warning to America

In response to American attacks, Iran is targeting Gulf countries. Brigadier General Ibrahim Zolfaghri, spokesman for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, has threatened that if America damages its infrastructure, they will destroy the infrastructure of the Middle East. Zolfaghari also said that Iran will not accept any US intervention in Hormuz.

The incident of detention of 24 local United Nations (UN) staff by Houthi rebels in Yemen has increased concern at the international level. Although no official statement has come from the Houthi group till now, but according to experts and local sources, there could be many important reasons behind this action.

According to the report of Associated Press, Israel recently conducted a strike in Yemen. After this strike, Houthis are angry with UN officials. He says that UN officials were doing spying work in Sanaa. At the same time, experts believe that this action has also been taken to warn those local employees who do not agree with Houthi policies or are allegedly sympathetic to the opposing groups.

Preparation to run espionage case in Yemen

Actually, UN officials were engaged in rescue operations in Sana’a, but the Houthis felt that the UN officials were spying here, due to which the Houthis started taking action from Sunday. There is no news as to where the UN officials have been taken. According to reports, Houthi rebels are preparing to file an espionage case against these officers.

According to sources, the employees who have been arrested worked for various UN agencies like UNDP (United Nations Development Programme), WFP (World Food Programme), UNICEF and OHCHR (Office of Human Rights).

UN officials may face death sentence

It is being told that Houthi fighters forcibly took away these employees from their homes and offices. Along with this, the phone, TV and other communication equipments of the UN office have also been confiscated. According to the legal process of Yemen, if a case of espionage is filed against these UN officials and it is proved, then they can also be hanged i.e. death sentence in Yemen. On the other hand, Israel’s strike on Houthi rebels continues.
