However, Petrol Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that there is no shortage of crude oil and the government is closely eyeing it. But, despite the US air strike on Iran’s nuclear installations, if the oil transport sea route closes the Iran Hormun Strait, then India is not going to make much difference.

Straight of hormun closure will not affect

According to industry experts, if the hormun strandary is closed, then there will be many options to import oil across India. From countries from Russia to America and Brazil, India can import oil of its need as an alternative source.

As soon as the tension between Iran and Israel increased the Iranian Parliament has approved the closure of Hormun Strait. From here, about 20 percent of the total oil and gas supply of the world is transported by this waterway. India imports about 40 percent of its oil and gas needs from this part. This hormuz is located between Iran in the north and Oman in the south and the United Arab Emirates. It is a major part of oil transport from major oil producing countries Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait and UAE.

India depends on imports 90% oil

India imports about 90 percent of its needs, out of which about 40 percent of which comes from the countries of Midil East via this hormun Strait. India imports about 51 lakh barrels of oil, which is converted to the refinery and prepared petrol and diesel.

But, due to the closure of this route, India oil prices are sure to increase, but it will not have much effect in India. As soon as tension in the middle East increased, India increased the purchase of oil from Russia in June. Middle East supplier increased oil imports from countries such as Saudi Arabia and Iraq. The oil hormun imported from Russia comes via a suicide canal separate from the strait. Apart from this, countries like America, West Africa, Latin America are also in option for oil backup countries as an alternative.

Strait of hormuz: After the Israeli attack on Iran, tension in West Asia has increased considerably. It is a narrow but important waterway between Iran-Oman and the southern part of the UAE. It connects the Gulf of Persia to the Gulf of Oman and then to the Arabian Sea.

It is far away from India, but whatever will happen here will be directly affected by your fuel bill to business and even the stock market. Hormuz Jamdamarumadhya is just 21 mile i.e. about 34 kilometers wide and 161 km long.

What is importance?

The hormuz is very important for the import and export of both the strawed crude oil and gas. This is followed by many important bandhgahs, such as Iran’s monkey Abbas who is an important naval and commercial port. Apart from this, it has a UAE Fujaria port, which is important oil reserves and shipping center point. Oman has Sohar Bandarah, which is used for business and shipping re-nuts. In addition, Qatar has Ras Lafan, which is an important LAG export port.

With this strait, about the fifth part of the world’s oil i.e. 17 million per barrel passes through this route daily. This is the way of export of oil producing countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar and UAE. According to the US Energy Information Administration, about 83 percent of the oil passing through here reaches the Asian market.

Why worry about Iran’s threat?

Iran has threatened to shut down this hormuz strainer from Israel. However, this is not the first time that Iran has threatened such a threat. In such a situation, this oil vein is also being called in view of this importance of Strait. Experts believe that if any obstruction in the hormuz straw, global energy prices will increase, shipping cost will increase and supply will be delayed.

Another question arises whether Iran can stop it? Actually, according to the Iranian law, he controls the most narrow part of it, but the international conference states that Iran is not allowed to work at the cost of the rhyth of foreign ships.
