Ethanol Stove: After your car, now ethanol is preparing to knock in your kitchen. Actually, the government wants to promote the use of ethanol as an alternative to LPG. A new policy is being made in this regard, in which many more provisions can be made including promoting ethanol stoves. If we talk about ethanol stove, it can soon be seen in common homes. It is being told that it will be much cheaper than LPG. Today we are going to tell you on which technology the ethanol stove works and how much cheaper it will be compared to LPG.

What is ethanol stove?

As the name suggests, this stove uses ethanol for flame. In this you can use any type of ethanol fuel in liquid and gel form. Its working method is like that of kerosene oil stove which came till a few years ago. Ethanol stove has a tank in which you can fill fuel. Then it can be turned on-off with the help of the knob. After switching on, it can cook food in a clean and safe manner just like LPG. Like LPG, there is no smoke in it. Also, it will neither blacken the cooking utensils nor will it emit any smell. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had said in a program that ethanol stove is coming. By mixing 7 percent ethanol in water, food can be cooked like LPG.

What are the benefits of ethanol stove?

• Cooking with ethanol stove is cheaper than LPG. Depending on the raw material, the price of ethanol is between Rs 60-70 per liter. It has been claimed in many reports that an ethanol stove can run for about 15 hours on one liter of fuel. This means that by paying Rs 60-70, you can cook food for 15 hours on an ethanol stove. If we look at it on per hour basis, you can use it for one hour for just Rs 4-5.
• Ethanol helps in quick cooking. When ethanol is burnt, its temperature reaches 700-800 degrees, which cooks the food quickly.
• Ethanol can also be used in gel form. Therefore there will be no fear of it leaking. This fuel is also considered environmentally safe and burning it does not cause pollution.
