Salman Khan became an overnight star with ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’ but long before this film, Salman Khan’s debut film ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi’ (1988) came. The actor did not give any audition for this film, but he was offered this role very surprising. Actually, the director of this film JK Bihari has recently revealed during an interview that he had cast Salman for ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi’ at the same moment when he saw him coming towards his office.

How did Salman Khan get a debut film?
During the interview to Siddharth Kannan, director JK Bihari revealed, “I was sitting in my garage and saw that a boy is crossing the road with a file in his hand. Seeing his trick, I decided that I will sign him,” Rekha and Farooq Sheikh starrer ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi’, Salman played the role of Farooq’s younger brother. It was a small but miningful character. Salman made her Bollywood debut with this film.

Father’s name was not used to get a role
JK Bihari further told that Salman never took his father’s name to get the role. He said, “He came to me and talked to me and I said yes. He could not believe it. He did not take his father’s name. If he had done this, I might not have cast him.” At that time, Salim Khan was one of the most respected authors of Bollywood, and his son played such a small role, showing Salman’s humility and urge to learn.

Later, when Bihari came to know that Salman Khan is the son of Salim Khan, he was worried that this young actor would not back down. But this never happened. Bihari remembered, “Salim Khan had said, you are the new director, he is also new.” He further said that this film was made completely due to Destiny.

In very small amount, the makers had contracted three films with Salman
The filmmaker also revealed that Salman had a contract of three films on a small amount with the producer, as he wanted to start the work. He said, “Salman wanted a break, so he was ready to do anything. So my producer had contract with him on a very small amount.” Exactly a year later, Salman was launched in the lead role in “Maine Pyaar Kiya” and the youth who once worked in a garage became one of the biggest stars in India.
