A new research published in the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging has revealed that chemotherapy disrupts brain connectivity in breast cancer patients and changes with progress of treatment.

55 breast cancer patients participated in research

In this research, researchers compared the functional MRI (FMRI) scan of 55 breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy to 38 healthy people, in which researchers saw significant changes in the frontal-limbic system. It has seen changes in executive functions like memory and coudder in breast cancer patients. Not only this, this situation worsened with the continuation of chemotherapy.

Other disadvantages of chemotherapy

Chemotherapy can cause many other disadvantages other than brain connectivity of patients, such as-
