Before the Asia Cup, there was a big upset. Sri Lanka defeated Zimbabwe by 7 runs in a thrilling match. In this first ODI, Sri Lanka scored 298 runs in the first play, but in response, Zimbabwe finally collapsed under pressure and lost the match by 7 runs. Despite being at the crease of a set batsman like Alexander Raza, Zimbabwe could not win this match. Actually, the entire match was overturned by the hat -trick in the last over.

Want 10 runs in the last over

Chasing a target of 299 runs, Zimbabwe scored 289 runs in 49 overs at the loss of 5 wickets. Zimbabwe needed only 10 runs to win in the last over. 10 runs were seen as a slight target, because Alexander Raza was playing 92 runs and Tony Munayanga was also set at the other end. 10 runs were not a big deal for 2 set batsmen.

Amazing in the last over

In the last over, Dilshan came to bowl. He bowled Alexander Raza at a score of 92 on the very first ball. The new batsman came to the Brad and the crease, but Madushaka got him out on a score of 0. Madushaka had a chance of hat -trick. There were Nagarwa in front, and when the ball thrown on the good length by Madushaka went on ripping the stumps, Nagarwa did not know.

Where Zimbabwe needed 10 runs to win in 6 balls, on seeing the target, there was 10 runs in 3 balls. Madushaka’s hat-trick completely overturned the attitude of the match in just 2-3 minutes towards Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka, who was a 6-time Asia Cup champion, narrowly escapes the defeat of this is a danger bell for him.
