Metal Storm Weapon System: One of the most complex challenges of modern war, China is working on a very deadly and new generation weapon system to prevent hypersonic missiles. This multi-bareal machine gun is being prepared under the ‘Metal Storm Project’, which is said to be more powerful than the Falancs Close-in Weapon System of the US Navy.

This weapon system being developed by defense scientists of North China University can be used on both land and sea. Its purpose is to prevent high speed danger like hypersonic missile. Its most special thing is that it is not mechanical like traditional gans but uses electromagnetic quail ignition technology.

In this, the tablets are loaded above one and each shot is only fired in 17.5 microScands. This means that there is no mechanical delay, just speed and destruction. This system comes with smart ammunition, which consists of sensors and data chips that track each shot trageter, speed and accuracy in real time.

Inspiration from the old Australian project

Although this technique is inspired by the 1990s Australian metal store projects, China has overcome its weaknesses such as heat control and barrel overloading. Now it has a disposable barrels and modular re-loading systems. This system can be deployed on mobile vehicles, air defense units and navy ships. In such a situation, it can prove to be a game-changer for both China’s Thal and Navy.
