CBSE has been in the news for the last several days. The main reason behind this is that the new system OSM has come. Due to which students are facing a lot of problems. Meanwhile, now the Central Government has taken a big decision and transferred Chairman Rahul Singh and Secretary. Along with this, a special committee has been formed to investigate the disputes related to On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.

This decision has come at a time when many questions are being raised regarding CBSE’s evaluation process, tender system and scrutiny of copies. Let us tell you that CBSE’s on-screen marking system has been in the news for the last few weeks. Students, parents and many organizations alleged that there was a lack of transparency in the evaluation process.

At the same time, in some cases controversies also arose regarding the evaluation of class 12th copies. The matter reached the court and opposition parties also sought answers from the government. In such an environment, the government has decided to form an inquiry committee and investigate the entire matter in depth.

Examiners are given the facility to check answer sheets digitally through an on-screen marking system. Its objective was to make the evaluation process faster and more systematic. But in recent times many questions are being raised regarding this system.

Who is Rahul Singh?

IAS Rahul Singh, who was removed from the post of CBSE Chairman, is a senior officer. He is a 1996 batch Bihar cadre officer and has been in administrative service for nearly three decades. Rahul Singh is from Vaishali district of Bihar. Talking about his education, he has done B.Tech in Computer Science and after that he completed higher education in Public Policy and Management.

IAS Rahul Singh was made the Chairman of CBSE on central deputation in March 2024. Before this he was working as Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training. At the same time, in Bihar, he has handled important responsibilities in many departments like education, energy, finance, urban development and district administration.

His administrative career also includes the experience of serving as District Magistrate in districts like Bhagalpur, Madhubani and West Champaran. He has also played an active role in the education sector. He had worked in many programs related to Bihar Education Mission and school education.
