New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell has now become the world’s number-1 batsman in ODI cricket. This is historic because after 46 years a New Zealand batsman has become number-1. Earlier, Rohit Sharma of India was the number-1 batsman, but Mitchell has snatched the crown from the hitman. However, Jasprit Bumrah remains number-1 in the ranking of bowlers in Tests.

New Zealand’s batsman becomes number 1 in ODI after 46 years

Daryl Mitchell scored 119 runs in the first ODI against West Indies on 16 November. However, due to a back injury, he is out of the remaining matches of the series. Daryl Mitchell has become the first New Zealand batsman since Glenn Turner in 1979 to top the men’s ODI batting rankings.

Abrar took 3 wickets for 41 runs in the second ODI against Sri Lanka. Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf has jumped 5 places. He is at 23rd position.
