Pakistan Cricket Team Boycott ICC T20 World Cup 2026: The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is going to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is continuously threatening to boycott this tournament, but in the meantime a new news has come to light. According to reports, Pakistan has been advised not to take such a step. It is being said in the reports that Pakistan has already booked its flight for Colombo. The Pakistani cricket team will leave for Colombo on Monday, by that time Pakistan’s cricket chief will announce his team’s participation in the T20 World Cup.

The source told Telecom Asia Sports, ‘Despite the uncertainty over participating in the World Cup, the Pakistani team has booked an Air Lanka flight from Lahore to Colombo with the Australian team. It is expected that by Friday i.e. January 30, PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi will clarify the participation of Pakistani team in this mega event.

Naqvi had expressed doubt on Pakistan’s involvement

In protest against the exclusion of Bangladesh from the T20 World Cup 2026, PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi had expressed doubts over the participation of the Pakistani team in the tournament. Bangladesh Cricket Board’s request to shift its matches from India to Sri Lanka due to security concerns was rejected by the International Cricket Council (ICC). After this, on Monday, January 26, Naqvi met Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Islamabad to seek advice on whether to send the team to the T20 World Cup or not.
