How to get umpire job in ICC?

If you want to become an umpire in international cricket i.e. ICC, then for that you have to go through a long process.

1. Become the first local umpire – Get your state cricket association established. There you will get the experience of umpiring in local matches.

2. Pass BCCI exam – When you have some experience, your name is sent to BCCI. BCCI conducts Level-1 examination every year, which consists of written, oral and practical test. Before this examination, BCCI also organizes a 3-day training camp in which information about cricket rules is given.

3. Level-2 and Medical Test – After passing Level-1, you have to appear in Level-2 exam. After this your fitness test takes place. After passing all these you become an official umpire of BCCI.

4. Move towards international level – When you perform well in BCCI matches, BCCI sends your name to ICC. ICC first calls you as a trainee umpire for international matches, then after a good track record, you are included in the panel of ICC.

What is the salary of ICC umpire?

If an umpire works at the international level and joins the ICC panel, then his earnings are quite good. For an ODI match, the umpire gets around Rs 2 lakh 25 thousand, whereas the fee for a Test match is around Rs 3 lakh or even more. This fee for T20 matches ranges from approximately Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. If an umpire joins the elite panel of ICC, his annual salary can range from around Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore. Bismillah jan shinwari death: Bismillah Jaan Shinwari, a member of the ICC Umpire Panel, died at the age of 41, the cricket world is in mourning. Afghanistan’s Shinwari was admitted to a hospital in Pakistan after his health deteriorated a few days ago, he had a surgery but after that he died. Shinwari had an onfield umpiring in 46 international matches.

Bismillah Jaan Shinwari umpiring 25 ODIs and 21 T20 Internationals. Apart from these, he was also a TV umpire in 9 ODIs and 5 T20 matches. The cricket world is in mourning due to his sudden death. The ICC and Afghanistan Cricket Board paid tribute to him.

Surgery was done in Peshawar

Bismillah Jaan Shinwari’s brother quoted Tolo News, saying, “He had gone to Peshawar after getting sick. He said that he wanted to undergo surgery to reduce excess fat. He admitted to the hospital for a few days. He underwent surgery but unfortunately he died after the operation.”
