Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers has registered a tremendous increase in its profits in the March quarter. The consolidated net profit of the company increased by 126 percent compared to last year and increased to Rs 41.5 crore. This increase was due to strong growth in non-broking business and higher margins. According to the company’s earnings release, the revenue from operations in this quarter was Rs 256 crore, which is 28 percent more than last year.

ICICI Pru Life

ICICI Pru Life has also registered a huge increase in its profits in the March quarter. Profit after tax (PAT) increased by 58 percent to Rs 609 crore. In the same quarter of last year, this figure was Rs 386 crore. Profit for the full year increased by 35 percent to Rs 1600 crore, which also included the profit from selling its stake in ICICI Pension Fund Management Company. Net premium income increased by 17 percent to Rs 19,180 crore. The one-time premium has increased by 46 percent, while the renewal premium has increased by about 6 percent.

HAL

America’s big defense company GE Aerospace on Tuesday informed about manufacturing F414 jet engine in collaboration with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Talks are underway between the two companies to finalize a collaboration for its co-production. About three years ago, GE Aerospace had signed an agreement with HAL for co-production of F-414 fighter jet engines in India. Since then, both sides have been engaged in talks to finalize various aspects of the program.

Vedanta

At least nine people were killed and 15 injured in an explosion in the boiler unit of a power plant run by Vedanta in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday. This incident took place in Sinhitarai, about 230 kilometers from Raipur. Due to this accident, there may be movement in Vedanta shares today.
