Core Sector Growth: The growth rate of eight major infrastructure sectors of the country declined to only 1.8 percent in November, which was 5.8 percent a year ago in November 2024, and this decline clearly reflects the slowdown in the country’s industrial activities. According to official data, the main reason for this weak performance was the decline recorded in crude oil, natural gas, petroleum refinery products and electricity production, which overshadowed the overall growth of these basic sectors.

However, it is a matter of relief that there has been some improvement in the situation on a monthly basis, because in October the combined production of these eight major industries – coal, crude oil, natural gas, petroleum refinery products, electricity, fertilizer and steel had fallen below zero to -0.1 percent.

In comparison, November’s figure of 1.8 percent indicates that the pace of decline has slowed down, but a strong recovery is still far away. Talking about the entire current financial year 2025-26, the production of these eight sectors has increased by only 2.4 percent in the period from April to November, whereas in the same period of the last financial year 2024-25, this growth was 4.4 percent.

This makes it clear that the infrastructure sector, which is considered the backbone of the country’s industrial and economic growth, is currently under pressure and the weakness in raw materials and power production related to the energy sector can also impact the overall economic activity.

After Bihar elections (2025), NDA government has been formed again in the state. The Home Department, which was with Nitish Kumar in the new government, has now gone to BJP. Samrat Chaudhary is handling its responsibility. On Tuesday (December 02, 2025), the post of Speaker also went to BJP’s account. Prem Kumar was elected president unopposed. Now RJD and IIP, a party included in the grand alliance, have made a big claim.

‘BJP has moved ahead towards forming its own government’

RJD Principal General Secretary and MLA Ranvijay Sahu, while talking to ABP News, claimed that BJP will remove Nitish Kumar from the post of CM. Will make her Chief Minister in Bihar. It has moved forward in the direction of forming its own government. He said that BJP also took the Home Department from JDU. Two deputy CMs are also from BJP. BJP is elder brother. He said that BJP has played in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and many states. The same kind of game will happen here (Bihar).

IP Gupta also made a similar claim

On the other hand, IIP President and MLA IP Gupta, who is part of the Grand Alliance, has also made a claim regarding this. IP Gupta said, “BJP will remove Nitish from the CM’s chair. It will make its own Chief Minister in Bihar. After the Home Department and two Deputy CMs, the Speaker also became BJP’s. BJP will form its own government.”

At the same time, RJD MLA Bhai Virendra made a big claim like other leaders of the Grand Alliance. Brother Virendra said, “The way the Home Department… after that the post of Speaker of the Assembly has gone into the hands of BJP… wait, very soon what has happened in Maharashtra is going to happen here too.”

BJP said- Opposition is spreading confusion

Even though the leaders of the Grand Alliance are making such a claim, the BJP is sure that nothing like this is going to happen. On this entire matter, BJP MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia said that Nitish Kumar will remain the Chief Minister. The Home Department, the post of two Deputy CMs, the post of Speaker, all have been done with mutual consent. The opposition is spreading confusion.

Also read- Nitish Kumar congratulated Prem Kumar, told the members in the House to stand up and salute him.

Counting of votes is going on for the assembly elections held on 243 seats in Bihar on 6th and 11th November. Counting of votes has started from 8 am on Friday at 46 counting centers of the state and this time 2615 candidates have tried their luck in this election. However, the trends so far have raised the tension of the Grand Alliance to the seventh sky. While NDA is ahead on 161 seats, the wind of Grand Alliance is currently blowing on only 68 seats. Now it is also being said that the allies on whom RJD showed trust could not do anything special.

These allies did not work for RJD?

If we talk about the Grand Alliance in the current trends, then they are leading in just under 70 seats. But in this also RJD has the maximum seats. Congress, VIP, Left, IIP, which are considered to be Tejashwi’s trust in the grand alliance, could not do any special magic. In the latest trends, RJD is leading on 50 seats while Congress is leading on only 12 seats. The condition of other allies is even worse. On VIP 01, the Left is leading on 5 seats. But if we talk about IIP, its account has not even been opened yet.

Nitish’s allies also lagged behind!

Even though NDA alliance is in lead, JDU seems to be the largest party in this election. Although BJP is not far behind JDU but the condition of other allies looks bad. LJP is leading on 14 seats, while HAM is on 3 seats and RLM is still spreading its magic on only 1 seat.

Jansuraj is also in the field

Let us also tell you that 238 candidates of Prashant Kishor’s party Jansuraj are in the electoral fray in Bihar elections. Apart from this, other parties are also in this election, in which Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has 83 candidates, BSP (BSP) has 181 candidates and the number of independent candidates is 926.

India’s Industrial Production: Maintaining GDP growth and creating new employment opportunities has become a big challenge for the countries facing America’s high tariffs. At a time when the Indian Rupee is continuously weakening against the Dollar and fluctuations are being seen in the stock market, a positive news has emerged from the economic front.

The country’s industrial production increased by 4 percent in September. This growth has been recorded mainly due to the better performance of the manufacturing sector. According to official data from the National Statistical Office (NSO) released on Tuesday, industrial production, measured in terms of the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), grew by 3.2 percent in September 2024.

Performance of manufacturing and other sectors

NSO has revised the provisional estimate of industrial production growth for August 2025 from 4 percent to 4.1 percent. According to the new data, the production of the manufacturing sector increased by 4.8 percent in September, whereas it increased by 4 percent a year ago i.e. in September 2024. However, there was a decline of 0.4 percent in the mining sector, whereas there was a marginal growth of 0.2 percent a year ago.

increase in power generation

Electricity generation recorded an increase of 3.1 percent in September 2025, whereas in the same period last year this increase was only 0.5 percent. The country’s industrial production has increased by 3 percent during the first half (April-September) of the financial year 2025-26, while in the first half of 2024-25 the growth was 4.1 percent.

On the other hand, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will hold an important meeting with the exporters’ community here on Wednesday. In this meeting, measures to further increase the country’s exports will be discussed. The country’s exports have increased by 6.74 percent to reach 36.38 billion dollars in September. This meeting is taking place at a time when India’s exports to its largest trading partner America declined by about 12 percent to $5.46 billion last month.

India’s Index of Industrial Production: This news is going to give relief for the Indian economy facing the American tariff. In July, there has been a 3.5 percent increase in industrial production of the country. This is the highest increase in the last four months. The main reason for this surge was the better performance of the manufacturing sector.

On Thursday, the official data released by the National Statistics Office (NSO) stated that the Industrial Production Index (IIP) increased by 3.5 percent in July. This is the highest level after the 3.9 percent increase recorded in March this year. However, in July 2024, industrial production had increased at the rate of 5 percent, that is, this time the growth on an annual basis has been slightly slow.

Meanwhile, NSO has kept the growth rate of industrial production for June 2025 stable at 1.5 percent. This figure is the same as the temporary estimate released last month.

Why increased speed?

In July 2025, the growth rate of manufacturing sector was 5.4 percent, compared to 4.7 percent in the same month last year. However, the mining sector recorded a huge decline of 7.2 percent. A year ago, it increased by 3.8 percent in the same period. There was also a big decline in power generation. While power generation increased by 7.9 percent in July 2024, it was only 0.6 percent in July 2025.

FY

The country’s total industrial production increased by only 2.3 percent in the first four months (April-July) of FY 2025-26. Whereas in the same period last year, it was 5.4 percent. It is clear that at the beginning of the current financial year, the pace of industrial activities has been relatively slow.

Significantly, this increased news has come at a time when 50 percent US tariffs have been effective on India since August 27, one day ago. However, many efforts are being made by the government to deal with it. But, it is being said that due to this high tariff, business related to labor -oriented employment such as clothes, leather, footwear, gems and jewelery can be affected.
