IIT Hyderabad Placement: IIT Hyderabad has released the placement figures for the academic session 2024-25. This time in the placement season, students got great offers from leading companies in the country and abroad. The largest package was Rs 90 lakh per year, while the average annual package was recorded at Rs 22.5 lakh. The special thing is that 100 percent placement was achieved in two special programs and PhD students also got a package of up to Rs 81 lakh.

According to IIT Hyderabad, the placement process started from December 1, 2024 and was conducted through both online and offline modes. During this period, 320 companies took part in campus recruitment and job opportunities were given to students from different fields including engineering, science, design and management. According to the institute’s data, a total of 493 students were selected and received 521 job offers. These included 87 pre-placement offers and 43 international offers. The placement rate at the undergraduate level was 70.99 percent, while at the post graduate level it was 69.74%.

Highest placement in Computer Science

Computer Science and Engineering remained at the forefront in department wise figures. 96 out of 111 students of this department got jobs. After this, 81 out of 97 students were selected in Electrical Engineering. Apart from this, 65 out of 94 students of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, 36 out of 73 students of Civil Engineering, 36 out of 45 students of Artificial Intelligence and 32 out of 56 students of Chemical Engineering got placement. At the same time, students of departments like Material Science and Metallurgical Engineering, Engineering Science and Mathematics and Mathematics and Computing also got a good number of offers.

100% placement in two departments

According to the institute, all 8 students in the Additive Manufacturing program got placed and the department recorded 100 percent placement. All the eligible students were selected in the PhD program and here too 100 percent placement was recorded. PhD students got a maximum annual package of Rs 81 lakh.

How was the performance program wise?

The performance of B.Tech students was the best. In the meeting, 74.56 percent placements were recorded and the maximum package was Rs 90 lakh per annum. The biggest package for MTech students was Rs 58 lakh and the placement rate was 66.28 percent. Apart from this, the maximum package of BDesign was recorded as Rs 14 lakh, that of MDesign was Rs 29.32 lakh and the maximum package of MSc students was Rs 58 lakh.

700 students got job offers

The institute has also released detailed placement data for the academic year 2024-25. According to this, out of 1,146 graduating students, 943 students registered for placement. Out of which 700 students got job offers. In this phase, the biggest package was Rs 66.13 lakh and the average package was Rs 20.26 lakh per year. Students also got 53 international offers.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has launched a driverless bus service run by Artificial Intelligence on its campus. These buses have been prepared by Technology Innovation Hub on Autonomous Navigation (Tihan). This service will not only make the journey easier inside the campus, but is a big step towards smart mobility in India.

More than 10,000 people experienced experience

• Tihan’s team, led by Professor P. Rajalakshmi, has successfully designed and deployed these self-driving electric shots. So far, these buses have traveled over 10,000 passengers and have achieved 90% satisfaction ratings. These come in two variants (6-seater and 14-seater).

Smart and safe features

• These buses have features like automatic emergency brake and adaptive cruise control. These features help the bus to identify the obstacles on the way, keep safe distance from pedestrians and other vehicles and change the speed according to the need. Their technology has been certified at TRL-9 level, that is, they have been successfully tested on the real road.

Tihan’s role in India’s autonomous technology

• Apart from IIT Hyderabad, Tihan’s work can also change the transport sector of India. This hub has set up the country’s first automatic driving test center, where this technology can be tested and certified under Indian road conditions. This center will provide better facilities and necessary data to companies and research institutes.

Preparation of future innovators

• Tihan, AI and Machine are preparing new generation innovators by giving special training in learning. The aim is that India has good talent in these new technologies and the country can compute in the world.
