When will JEE Advanced 2026 exam be held?

In 2026, JEE Advanced exam will be conducted by IIT Roorkee. Before this, the institute has released important information related to the exam like exam date and eligibility rules. According to the official schedule, JEE Advanced 2026 will be conducted on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at designated examination centers across the country.

Which students will be able to appear for JEE Advanced 2026?

Only those students will be able to appear in JEE Advanced 2026, who have secured a position within the top 2,50,000 ranks in JEE Mains 2026. Reservation will be applicable according to category, and PWD candidates will be given 5 percent reservation in each category. Apart from this, IIT Roorkee has also released new eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2026. According to this criteria, the candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2001. Whereas SC, ST and PWD category students have been given age relaxation of 5 years. Apart from this, candidates will be able to appear for JEE Advanced exam maximum twice and in two consecutive years.

Rules on 2024 passed out students

Candidates should appear for the 12th exam for the first time in 2025 or 26 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Students appearing for 12th exam in 2024 or before will normally not be eligible for this exam, although relaxation has been given in some special cases. Whereas if a candidate has earlier taken admission in any IIT course and has canceled the admission after seat allotment, then he will not be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026, however, candidates doing preparatory course in 2025 and not reporting despite being allotted seat in JoSAA 2025 will be able to take the exam.

JEE Advanced 2026 Application Process

Applications for JEE Advanced 2026 can start soon. The application will be announced on the official website. After this the eligible candidates will be able to apply for the examination. Along with the application, the candidates will have to deposit the prescribed fees according to the category. In this, women candidates, SC, ST and PWD will have to deposit a fee of Rs 1600. Whereas the remaining candidates will have to deposit a fee of Rs 3200.

A big data leak case has come to light in IIT Roorkee, counted among the top engineering institutions in the country. This incident has not only raised questions on the safety of students and alumni, but is also expressing serious concern over the cyber security system of the institute.

According to the Times of India report, personal information of more than 30,000 students and alumni was opened on a public website for the last several years. This information included mobile number, email ID, parents’ contact number, caste category, financial status, admission and graduation year, even photos.

How was it revealed?

It is believed that this data was evacuated electronically from the records of the academic affairs department of IIT Roorkee and then put on a website without any security. On this website, any person could see the complete information of the student by putting the enrollment number of the student.

When the information came to the institute about this matter, he immediately ordered to start an internal investigation. Deputy Director UP Singh said that we have sent the matter to Dean Academic Affairs and Dean Student Welfare so that necessary action can be taken.

Website was running for 10 years

According to the report, this website was active for about 10 years. Although there was no data of the current year on this, the old records were constantly being updated. Many students believe that the website operator was using these necessary information from an unknown place and its purpose is not yet clear.

A student said that it is a very serious matter that an unknown person has our personal information and he is sharing it. The institute did not even know about this, which is even more worrying.

Next action of the institute

At present, IIT Roorkee has started an internal investigation. Hopefully, quick steps will be taken to close the website and secure data. However, the institute has not yet issued an official statement about any possible threat related to the use of leaked data.

Who is Rajiv Krishna?
Rajiv Krishna is originally from Gautam Budh Nagar district. He was born on 26 June 1969. However, there was something else in the heart. After becoming an engineer, he started preparing for UPSC and in 1991 he became an IPS.

Rajiv Krishna started service in UP Police on 15 September 1991. In his career, he has been a police captain in districts like Mathura, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Bulandshahr, Agra, Noida and Lucknow. He also worked as SP in Lucknow, DIG in Agra and IG in Meerut. Apart from this, he has also fulfilled the responsibility of IG PAC Headquarters and Central Zone.

Also played an important role in BSF
Rajiv Krishna has served in big positions not only in UP Police, but also in Border Security Force (BSF). He was stationed at the Indo-Pak and Indo-Bangladesh border for four years. In Jammu and Kashmir, he also served as IG of BSF. A sensor -based border management system was started under his leadership.

Anti -Terrorist Squad (ATS) started in UP led by Rajiv Krishna. His work against terrorism was highly appreciated and received the Galentary Award for the President twice.

DGP overtook 11 senior officers
The state government left behind 11 senior officers to make Rajiv Krishna a DGP. He was given this important responsibility due to his clean image, fast decision ability and reliable leadership. At present, 4 years 1 month is left in retirement due to his service, that is, he can take command of UP Police by June 2029.
