Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque located in Turkman Gate area of ​​Delhi suddenly came into discussion on Tuesday. Late on Tuesday night, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) demolished the alleged illegal constructions adjacent to the mosque with bulldozers. Since then, the situation has remained tense in the area and a large number of police forces are deployed.

Entire area changed in cantonment
The entire area around Turkman Gate has been turned into a cantonment. Police are stopping people from coming out of their homes. Meanwhile, the name of this mosque has now come to light as being linked to Delhi bomb blast accused terrorist Omar. After midnight on Tuesday, MCD teams reached near the mosque with heavy police force. The action to remove illegal encroachment was started with about 30 bulldozers.

Stone pelting on MCD and police
The administration says that a procession house and testing house adjacent to the mosque were built on government land and they were removed on the orders of the court. As soon as the demolition work started, some people pelted stones at the MCD and police. Five policemen including Chandni Mahal police station in-charge Mahavir Prasad were injured in this stone pelting. The condition of the station in-charge is said to be critical. To control the situation, the police had to release tear gas shells.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Central Range) Madhur Verma said that the situation was controlled with minimum use of force and any major conflict was avoided. He said that before the action, several meetings were held with the peace committee and local people, so that peace could be maintained.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police investigation has revealed that Red Fort bomb blast accused terrorist Umar was seen in this area before the incident. In the CCTV footage, Umar was seen present around Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque and inside the mosque for about 15 to 20 minutes.

According to the investigation report, Umar had also gone inside the mosque before the blast. Now security agencies are trying to find out why he had gone there and who he met.

This area is under strict surveillance
According to sources, after this connection came to light, the area around Turkman Gate and the mosque is under strict surveillance of police and intelligence agencies. However, the administration says that the bulldozer action has no direct connection with the investigation of the blast. This action was part of the legal process against previously identified illegal constructions. At the same time, the mosque committee claims that the structure which has been demolished is more than 100 years old and is a part of the mosque complex.

The accused are being identified
After the stone pelting incident, Delhi Police is now identifying the accused with the help of footage from CCTV and body worn cameras. In this case, FIR has been registered against unknown people and 10 people have been detained.

Mumbai resident Vaibhavi Chandel, who had gone to the club with her family on November 1, alleged that the club staff misbehaved with her, behaved inappropriately and beat her and her family with iron rods. He described the club as very suffocating and said that there is only one entry and exit door, which makes it very difficult to get out.

‘Staff abused, bouncers attacked’

Chandel said, ‘We were a total of 13 people. The structure of the club is such that it is very suffocating. Only one entry and one exit, that too at a height. When we were leaving at 3 o’clock in the night, my cousin slightly moved the heavy chair placed on the way, due to which the staff got angry. He told that the club manager accused him of damaging the furniture and said, ‘You should have thrown him out earlier. You people don’t have the capacity to live here. After this the manager caught hold of his cousin’s collar.

Chandel said that when they were trying to leave after apologizing, the manager called all the security personnel and bouncers. They ran after us and started beating us. Attacked my sister on the chest, pushed her and made her fall down the stairs. Barricades were placed at the entry gate so that we could not go out. When my brother removed the barricade, a bouncer came with a rod and beat him brutally. It is recorded in the FIR that when Chandel tried to save his brother, the staff slapped him and tried to grab his T-shirt. He told that the staff kept abusing continuously.

‘There was difficulty even in filing FIR’

Chandel said, ‘Everyone was badly injured so we went to the police in the morning. They called us to Anjuna police station the next day. After a lot of efforts somehow an FIR could be registered. FIR was registered against club manager Ajay Kavitkar, staff member Junaid Ali and security staff. The woman had also included the names of Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra in the complaint, but the police said that they were not present at the time of the incident and hence their names were removed. He said, ‘If the safety of women and tourists is not taken seriously, such cases will definitely happen again in Goa.’ Investigation revealed that the restaurant was built illegally on government land.

Luthra Brothers fled the country after the fire tragedy

Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra, facing charges of culpable homicide, fled the country just hours after the accident. Both of them flew to Phuket, Thailand on Indigo flight. He was present in Delhi at the time of the incident.
