The effect of cold is continuously increasing in Delhi-NCR. According to the Meteorological Department, on Wednesday (January 14), the maximum temperature in the capital may be around 20 degrees and the minimum temperature may be around 4 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of cold winds blowing at a speed of 5 to 10 kilometers per hour in the afternoon, due to which the cold will feel more stinging.

Orange alert of dense fog, people suffering from cold wave

Orange alert has been issued regarding dense fog in Delhi-NCR. Visibility is expected to be very low in the morning and late night, due to which road and rail traffic may be affected.

The effect of cold wave also continues. The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday morning, which was the coldest morning of January in the last three years. Whereas in Noida the mercury fell by two degrees, due to which people were forced to shiver.

AQI reaches 615, air is very bad

Along with cold and fog, the air of Delhi has also reached critical condition. Today (14 January) the AQI of the capital was once again recorded at 615, which falls in the very dangerous category. Due to poisonous air, the elderly, children and respiratory patients have been advised to take special caution.

Relief may be available between 15th and 20th January

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there may be a gradual increase in the maximum and minimum temperatures between January 15 and January 20. During this period, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 23 degrees and the minimum temperature is expected to reach around 10 degrees Celsius. However, light to moderate fog may persist in the morning.

Weather may change due to western disturbance

IMD says that a new western disturbance may become active in the western Himalayan region from January 15, whose effect will be seen in Delhi-NCR also.

Due to this, the sky may remain partly cloudy till January 19 and a slight increase in temperature may be recorded. There is a possibility of rain along with hailstorm between January 20 and 23, due to which the weather may take a turn once again.

Amidst the ongoing cold wave in Bihar, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for extremely dense fog in many parts of the state and has advised people to remain alert. India Meteorological Department has given this information on Friday (26 December). The Meteorological Department said that there was an outbreak of cold wave in Bihar on Friday and the minimum temperature was recorded below 10 degrees Celsius in many districts.

Where is the coldest place?

The department said that Aurangabad in the state and Sabaur in Bhagalpur were the coldest places in the state, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.4 degrees Celsius.

Temperature of different districts

It said that after this, 7.6 degrees were recorded in Gaya of the state, 8.9 degrees each in Bhagalpur and Sheikhpura, 9 degrees each in Valmiki Nagar and Dehri of West Champaran, 9.3 degrees in Jehanabad and 9.5 degrees in Saharsa.

The department said that orange alert has been issued for dense to very dense fog in East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Patna, Bhojpur, Buxar, Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Arwal and Jehanabad districts.

People advised to take precautions

The Meteorological Department said that due to fog, visibility remained very low in various parts of the state on Friday. An official of IMD, Patna, said that people have been advised to take necessary precautions especially in the morning and the concerned authorities have been asked to remain alert as road, rail and air traffic may be affected due to low visibility.

According to the Meteorological Department, the severe cold wave is likely to continue in many parts of the state till December 29. Due to lack of continuous sunlight, abnormal drop in day temperature is being recorded, due to which one has to resort to bonfire and warm clothes even during the day. Experts believe that slight improvement in the weather is possible only after December 30, before that there is little hope of relief.

Now the real effect of winter is visible in Delhi. Due to the icy winds coming from the north-western direction, the night temperature has dropped by more than three degrees. People are feeling severe cold in the morning and night. Cold winds have made Delhi’s winter more intense.

According to the Meteorological Department, on Friday (December 26), the maximum temperature of the capital is likely to be between 21 to 23 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be between 7 to 9 degrees. The minimum temperature recorded in Delhi on Thursday was 6.5 degrees, which is about one degree less than normal. Due to increasing cold at night, people were seen resorting to warm clothes.

Dense fog will remain for two days

The weather department has also warned about fog for the next two days. It is estimated that light to moderate fog may prevail in most areas of Delhi. There is a possibility of reduced visibility especially in the morning, due to which road and rail traffic may be affected.

There will be light clouds during the day

However, the situation is a little relieved during the day. The Meteorological Department says that there may be light clouds during the day, but there is also a possibility of bright sunshine. For this reason the maximum temperature still remains above normal. Due to sunshine in the afternoon, the effect of cold is felt less.

improve air quality

Along with winter, there is good news about Delhi’s air as well. A decrease in pollution levels has been recorded in the capital for the second consecutive day. There has been improvement in air quality due to strong sunlight and wind throughout the day. At present the AQI has been recorded at 286, which falls in the poor category, but the situation is better than before.

However, the Air Quality Early Warning System says that if the wind speed decreases, the pollution level may again fall into the very poor category in the next 24 hours. According to the India Meteorological Department, the pollution level may increase once again with the change in weather.

The monsoon stopped from 40 to 50 km from the last 4 days moved forward on Friday (May 23, 2025). This year, the knock of monsoon in Kerala is going to be the longest in the last 16 years. This is going to come a week before the scheduled time.

All favorable conditions have been created for the arrival of monsoon in the state and due to the moving monsoon system along with low pressure area, there has been heavy rains in many parts of Kerala in the last two days. The last time the monsoon in the state reached so soon in 2009 and 2001. At that time he reached Kerala on 23 May.

Heavy rains predict in south states

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted very heavy rains on Saturday (May 24, 2025) at the southern states of Kerala, coastal and south interior Karnataka as well as Konkan and different places in Konkan and Goa. Kerala and coastal Karnataka are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rains till May 29, as well as strong winds at a speed of 40-50 kmph. The Meteorological Department said that in the next five days, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will also splatter with sporadic rains and thunderstorms.

There will be rain in Maharashtra

Apart from this, the Meteorological Department issued a red alert on Friday afternoon, predicting heavy rains in the coastal districts of Maharashtra. According to the weather reports, there may be thunderstorms in Mumbai, lightning may shine, light to moderate rain may occur and winds may blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kmph in different areas.

Red Alert for Goa

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Goa, which has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall till Sunday. The state government has requested people to stay away from rivers and waterfalls as a precaution. Many parts of the coastal state received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours.

When will it rain in Delhi

Meanwhile, according to the IMD update released at 5:40 am on Friday morning, light rains are likely in the next two hours in parts of South Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR). Orange alert has also been issued for Delhi-NCR, in which strong winds are likely to blow at a speed of 70 kmph.

When before time and when time reached Kerala after time

The general date for the arrival of monsoon in Kerala is June 1. However, in 1918 it arrived first on 11 May. On the other hand, the most delayed monsoon rains began on 18 June in 1972. The most delayed monsoon entry in the last 25 years was in 2016, when he reached Kerala on 9 June.

Imd weather update: After twice the rains in some parts of north-west and central India, some relief from the scorching heat is now over. India Meteorological Department has predicted an increase of day temperature (maximum) by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next five days on Sunday (April 20, 2025) and re-heat stroke in many parts of the country.

The IMD said that during April 22-24, there is a possibility of heat stroke in different areas of South UP and MP. There is a possibility of heat stroke in Rajasthan and Haryana on April 23-24 and Vidarbha during 21-23 April. IMD has advised people, especially the elderly and children to avoid the heat, issuing Yellow (be careful) for these areas.

The possibility of rain in these areas will increase mercury in eastern India

However, a new round of heavy rain may be seen in the Northeast from Tuesday (April 22, 2025), while in eastern India, temperature is expected to increase by 4-6 degrees Celsius in the next four days.

The heat outbreak was at its peak around 8 April, when the mercury crossed 46 degrees Celsius in some parts of western Rajasthan. After this, the rains from 9 to 12 April and last week brought the temperature down to several degrees. On Sunday, Chandrapur in Maharashtra was the hottest place in India with 44.6 degree Celsius.

Temperature will also increase in Delhi

This week, the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be between 40 ° C to 42 ° C, but the temperature may increase further in the coming days. Last week, there has been some relief from the heat due to cloudy sky, light rain and strong winds, but the level of humidity has increased.

The IMD has forecast thunderstorms and rain on Monday with a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature of 26 ° C. ‘Yellow’ alert has been issued for thunderstorms, electricity and dust storms. The sky is expected to be partly cloudy, as well as the level of humidity is expected to reach 63 percent. Delhi is expected to move surface winds at a speed of 10-20 km/h in Delhi.
