It was the result of the brilliant thinking of D. Burman (Pancham Da) and veteran lyricist Anand Bakshi. He said, ‘Pancham Da worked hard the whole night to prepare the tune of this song. When the tune was ready, he gave it to Anand Bakshi so that he could write its lyrics.

Vishal further said, ‘It was the rainy season at that time. Anand Bakshi was trying to light a cigarette while returning home at night.
