Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has got permission to meet his sister Dr. Uzma Khatoon after almost a month. It is being told that Dr. Uzma has reached inside the jail premises, where she will meet Imran Khan. Amidst the protests outside Adiala Jail, Imran Khan’s sister Dr. Uzma Khan was finally called inside by the jail administration. Imran’s other sisters also reached the jail at 11:30 in the morning, but at present they have not been allowed to meet them.

Security around the prison is impenetrable.
Security has been tightened around the Adiala Jail complex. All roads leading to the jail have been blocked with containers and trucks. Heavy deployment of police and rangers has been made on every route. People are being searched continuously and only authorized people are being allowed to move forward.

Section 144 and orders to open fire implemented
Section 144 has been imposed in Rawalpindi due to which any kind of crowd or rally is banned. According to reports, the administration has issued orders to ‘shoot at site’, that is, in case of violence or vandalism, the security forces can open fire directly. A similar order has been implemented in Peshawar to stop the protesters.

PTI supporters not ready to back down
Despite strict restrictions and security arrangements, a large number of PTI supporters are present outside Adiala Jail. The protesters have continued sloganeering and the atmosphere is tense. The situation is constantly changing and the administration is on high alert.

Earlier, an anti-terrorism court of Pakistan on Monday rejected the petition of Alima Khan, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, in which she had requested to drop the charges against her under the anti-terrorism law. These charges are part of the case registered against Alima for participating in the protests called by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in November 2024.

The case was registered at Sadiqabad police station in Rawalpindi, in which 11 people including Alima were made accused and accused of illegal protest, anti-government sloganeering, vandalism and stone pelting. Alima had approached the Rawalpindi-based anti-terrorism court, requesting to drop terrorism charges under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Mysterious death stories circulating on social media
Many theories are emerging on the internet regarding the death of Imran Khan. Somewhere it is being claimed that he was poisoned in jail, while somewhere it is being said that some disease took his life. One theory also says that he has been secretly shifted to another jail. Although the government has termed all the claims as rumours, the growing restlessness of the family and the ban on meeting has further strengthened people’s suspicions.

The family is constantly being prevented from meeting
Imran Khan’s three sisters Noreen, Aalima and Uzma Khan say that despite the court’s permission, they have not been able to meet each other for three weeks. Not only the family, but even his lawyers are not able to meet Imran, whereas earlier the meeting was allowed every 15 days. The family has alleged that they are not being given any information about Imran’s health or even his location.

Protest and police action outside the jail
Imran Khan’s sisters and PTI leaders allege that the police suddenly attacked during a peaceful protest outside the jail. Lights were switched off at night and then lathicharge was carried out. Aalima Khan was detained and later released. After the incident, the question is arising that if Imran is alive and well, then why this kind of behaviour?

In which case is Imran Khan arrested?
Imran Khan is in jail since August 2023 in the Al-Qadir Trust case. He is accused of taking 60 acres of land from real estate businessman Malik Riaz along with his wife Bushra Biwi and causing a loss of crores to the government exchequer. In January 2025, the court sentenced Imran to 14 years and Bushra Biwi to 7 years.

Rumors of death have spread before too
This is not the first time that news of Imran Khan’s death has gone viral. Even in May 2025, there was a claim on social media that he had been shot in jail.

After a week, Imran Khan’s sisters again sat on a dharna along with thousands of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, to meet their brother. Many party leaders were also seen present with him in this protest that started late at night. This time the sisters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and the leaders of PTI are in a mood to fight. He has given a direct ultimatum to the Shahbaz government that if he is not allowed to meet Imran Khan in jail, then this protest will continue. During the dharna, PTI leaders kept raising slogans of independence.

According to Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Niazi, if the Pakistani government had allowed her to meet Imran Khan even for 5 minutes, she would have left comfortably, but she does not know in what condition Imran Khan has been kept and why she is not being allowed to meet him.

What has Shahbaz government been hiding for the last 4 weeks?

Despite the court order, the Shahbaz Sharif government of Pakistan and the Maryam Nawaz government of Pakistani Punjab are not allowing Imran Khan’s sisters to meet former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is lodged in Adiala jail for the last 4 weeks. Last week also, when Imran Khan’s sisters were not allowed to meet him, they sat on a dharna, however, later in the night, Pakistani police beat up Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Khanum Niazi and arrested her.

On Tuesday night, once again Imran Khan’s sisters sat on strike outside the jail. Last time there were around 100 workers with them, this time many leaders are also present at the protest and thousands of workers are protesting after the jail.
