Sudden Gamer Death Syndrome: A painful incident has come to light from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. In Lucknow, a 13-year-old boy named Vivek died while playing a mobile game. According to the child’s family, Vivek was addicted to playing Free Fire game. On Wednesday, when he was alone at home, he was continuously playing games on mobile. According to Vivek’s sister, when she went to the room, her brother Vivek was lying on the bed and the Free Fire game was playing on the mobile.

According to doctors, it is being considered a case of sudden death, in which a gamer dies suddenly while playing a game on mobile or computer. Let us now tell you what is sudden gamer death and how does sudden death occur.

What is Sudden Gamer Death?

According to doctors, sudden death while playing games on mobile or computer is called sudden gamer death. There is neither any kind of injury nor any quarrel with anyone. According to research by the American National Institute of Health, there have been about 24 such cases across the world where people have died while playing games continuously. Of these deaths, one death occurred in 1982 and the remaining 23 deaths occurred between 2002 and 2021. Most of the victims of sudden gamer death were men. The age of all those who died were between 11 and 40 years and most of the cases came from South East Asian countries.

What is the cause of sudden gamer death?

According to research, during gaming, many people sit at one place without stopping for several hours. During this time, blood pressure and heart rate increase, due to which the pressure on the body increases. Many people believe that taking short breaks makes a difference but it is not so, even taking short breaks does not make much difference.

Main reasons in cases of sudden gamer death

According to research by the US National Institute of Health, the main causes of sudden gamer death across the world have been blood clot in the lungs, brain hemorrhage or brain bleed and disturbance in heart rhythm.
