India’s rising young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi was the most talked about Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025. At the age of just 14, he gave such a performance which surprised the cricket fans. His figures in T20 cricket look no less than any explosive international player.

466 runs, 44 sixes, 36 fours – Vaibhav’s amazing record

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has played only 11 matches in T20, but in these matches he:

-Scored 466 runs on 211 balls

-Hit 36 fours and 44 sixes

Batted at a dangerous strike rate of -220.85

-These figures show that whenever Vaibhav stays at the crease, the match becomes one-sided.

Historical record broken in preliminary matches

His stormy century against UAE came in just 32 balls. After that he changed the course of the match by scoring 144 runs in 42 balls. This innings of his put him on the world cricket map. He became the youngest batsman to score two centuries in the T20 format. This record was earlier in the name of France’s Gustave Mackon, who had achieved this feat at the age of 18. Vaibhav broke it in just 14 years and 232 days.

Did not bat in last two matches

While Vaibhav’s bat was on fire in the beginning, against Pakistan he could score only 45 runs and in the match against Oman, his score was only 12 runs.

IND A vs BAN A: In the first semi-final of Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025, India A team succumbed to Bangladesh A despite coming very close to victory. The match was exciting in the first 20 overs and then reached the super over, where the Indian team could not score a single run. After this defeat, questions are being raised on three big decisions, which eliminated the team from the finals. Despite having a dynamic pair like Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Priyansh Arya, the wrong strategy of the team management proved costly.

1. Wrong toss strategy in a knockout match

The first big decision of captain Jitesh Sharma was to win the toss and choose to bowl. In knockout matches, most of the teams aim to score big by batting first. Whereas Jitesh took the opposite decision. Bangladesh scored fast runs from the beginning and put the match under pressure. If India had batted first, perhaps the story would have been different.

2. Giving the ball to a part-time bowler in the 19th over.

The last two overs changed the real direction of the match. Handing over the 19th over to part-time bowler Naman Dheer proved to be the biggest blunder. Naman gave away 28 runs in this over. SM Mehrob of Bangladesh broke the entire plan of India A by hitting three sixes, two fours and another six on the last ball. After this, 22 runs were scored in the 20th over also. That means 50 runs in just 12 balls! Earlier, the Indian bowlers had made a good comeback in the match, but these two overs completely spoiled the balance.

3. Not sending Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the super over.

The credit for tying the match goes to Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Priyansh Arya. Suryavanshi scored 38 runs in 15 balls and gave away 19 runs in Mandal’s over in the powerplay. Whereas Priyansh Arya also played a brilliant inning of 44 runs in 23 balls. Despite this, not sending him to bat in the Super Over was a shocking decision. Jitesh Sharma himself came out and was bowled on the very first ball. After this Ashutosh was also out without opening the account. India collapsed at 0/2 in the super over.

Bangladesh also lost a wicket on the first ball, but Indian bowler Suyyash Sharma bowled wide under pressure, due to which Bangladesh won without scoring any runs.

Rising Star Asia Cup 2025: Team India let the victory slip from their hands in the semi-finals of the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025. This exciting match played against Bangladesh reached the Super Over, but it was there that India’s biggest mistake came to light. The Indian team was out without scoring any runs in the Super Over. Bangladesh won the match with the help of a wide ball. After the defeat, questions started being raised on the decisions of the Indian team management, especially on not giving Vaibhav Suryavanshi a chance to bat in the Super Over.

What was the biggest mistake in the Super Over?

Chasing 194 runs, India made a brilliant comeback and took the match into the super over. During this, Vaibhav Suryavanshi kept India’s hopes alive by playing an explosive inning of 38 runs in 15 balls. Fans were hopeful that Vaibhav would be the first choice in the Super Over. Although this did not happen, captain Jitesh Sharma, Ramdeep Singh and Ashutosh Sharma were sent to bat.
The result was that India could not even open its account. Ripon Mandal dismissed Jitesh and Ashutosh on two consecutive balls.

Captain Jitesh Sharma told the reason

After the match was over, captain Jitesh Sharma clarified the decision and said, “Vaibhav and Priyansh are powerplay specialists. Hitting in the death overs suits me, Ashutosh and Ramdeep more. So it was a team decision.” However, this statement of Jitesh did not reduce the anger of the fans.

Some pictures of Vaibhav Suryavanshi are going viral on social media, in which he is seen sitting disappointed in the dugout. After the match, the fans raised questions on the team management and said that it was a big strategic mistake to not give a chance in the Super Over to the batsman who batted best in the entire match.

How Bangladesh won the match

On behalf of Bangladesh, Ripon Mandal bowled brilliantly in the super over, while on behalf of India, Suyyash Sharma bowled a wide ball and put the match in Bangladesh’s bag. The Bangladesh batsman was out on the very first ball, but India appeared to be under so much pressure while batting that even runs could not be scored.

Rising Star Asia Cup 2025: In the first semi-final of Asia Cup Rising Star 2025, India A suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Bangladesh A in the Super Over. While chasing the target of 194 runs, the match was definitely tied, but the defeat in the super over changed the story of the entire match. This defeat left many big questions, was it the failure of the bowlers in the last overs, slowness in batting or the decision of captain Jitesh Sharma that got the team out? The truth of the match is that India A committed three big blunders, the price of which it had to pay by being out of the tournament.

Blunder No. 1: ’50 runs’ in the last two overs

India’s bowling was excellent in the beginning. Bangladesh’s run rate had slowed down considerably in the middle overs and it seemed that the team would stop at 155–160. However, the last two overs changed the entire match. Naman Dheer, who came to bowl the 19th over, gave away 28 runs in just 6 balls. In this over, SM Mehrob hit sixes, which gave huge momentum to Bangladesh. After this, Vijaykumar Vaishyak brought the 20th over and here also 22 runs were lost. Giving 50 runs in the last 12 balls proves to be suicidal for any team in the semi-finals, and this is what happened with India A.

Blunder number 2: Nehal Vadhera’s slow inning increased the pressure

The target was big, the match was a knockout and runs were needed on every ball. Meanwhile, Nehal Vadhera’s innings of only 32 runs in 29 balls proved to be costly for the team. While other batsmen were trying to maintain the run rate, Nehal was seen struggling continuously. Due to his slow innings, there was additional pressure on other batsmen and the team could not gain momentum at the crucial time. If Nehal had also rotated the strike or hit big shots, the match could have already gone to India A.

Blunder number 3: Captaincy of Jitesh Sharma

Winning the toss and bowling first was a big risk and it backfired. However, the biggest blow was given by the decision taken in the Super Over. Instead of sending Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Priyansh Arya to the super over, who batted brilliantly in the match, captain Jitesh Sharma himself came forward. Being clean bowled on the very first ball puts a big question mark on his strategy. Ashutosh Sharma, who came forward, was also out without scoring and India A was reduced to zero in the Super Over. On the other hand, Bangladesh won the match with the help of just one wide.

For India A, this defeat was not just a match but the result of three big mistakes. Weak bowling in death overs, slow batting and captaincy mistakes. The team had the potential to reach the finals, but wrong decisions ruined all the hard work.

Bangladesh A has made it to the final by defeating India A in the first...

Bangladesh A has made it to the final by defeating India A in the first semi-final of Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025. The bowling of this team captained by Jitesh Sharma was very poor, due to which Bangladesh was able to reach a big score of 194. Although the bright start of Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Priyansh Arya had made the match, till the end Team India was close to victory but then lagged behind. Despite this, the team was successful in equalizing the score, after which the match reached the super over.

Bangladesh won in super over

According to the rules, the team that bats first has to bat second in the super over. Due to this, India had to bat first, but the performance of Team India’s batsmen in the Super Over was shameful. Jitesh Sharma and Ashutosh Sharma were out without scoring any runs in the first 2 balls, thus Bangladesh had to score only 1 run to win. However, no batsman from Bangladesh could open his account in the super over.

So how did Bangladesh win?

Suyyash Sharma bowled the super over for India, he gave a great start by taking the wicket of Yasir Ali on the first ball. After this, captain Akbar Ali came on the field, but Suyyash bowled the next ball wide. In this way, no Bangladeshi player’s account was opened and Bangladesh also won.

What was Team India’s biggest mistake?

If we look at the biggest mistake of Team India in the semi-final defeat at the hands of Bangladesh, then it was the two overs bowled by Vaishakh Vijay Kumar and Naman Dhir. Naman bowled the 19th over, in which he gave away 28 runs. Vaishakh bowled the last over, in which 22 runs were lost. Due to this, Bangladesh, which was on the score of 144 after 18 overs, was able to reach the total of 194.

While chasing the target, Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 38 runs in 15 balls, in which he hit 4 sixes and 2 fours. He went after doing his work, after this Priyansh Arya also batted well. He scored 44 runs in 23 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 4 fours. Jitesh Sharma scored 33 runs in 23 balls and Nehal Wadhera scored unbeaten 32 runs in 29 balls, although they could not lead the team to victory. India needed 4 runs to win on the last ball, yet due to the mistake of Bangladesh’s wicket keeper, India got 3 runs and the match was tied.

Bangladesh registered a thrilling victory over India in the semi-final match of Asia Cup Rising Stars. Bangladesh won this match which lasted till Super Over with the help of wide ball. In fact, in the Super Over, India had lost both its wickets without scoring any runs. Bangladesh had to score only one run to win the super over. Suyyash Sharma bowled a wide ball, due to which one run was added to Bangladesh’s scorecard and they entered the final. But what was the real reason for this shameful defeat of India?

India lost because of this mistake

By scoring 3 runs on the last ball of the innings, the Indian batsmen somehow took the match to the super-over. The Indian team had a golden opportunity to reach the finals, but the Indian management made a big mistake in the Super Over.

The Indian team sent Jitesh Sharma and Ramandeep Singh to bat. On one hand, Jitesh Sharma has not started batting since the first match of the tournament, while Ramandeep Singh is also not known for hitting very big shots.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was not sent

When the Super Over situation came, the Indian team should have started with both its regular opening batsmen Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Priyansh Arya. Suryavanshi batted at a stormy strike rate of around 244 in the entire tournament. In the semi-final match against Bangladesh, he started swinging the bat on the very first ball and hit 2 sixes in the first 3 balls of the innings. When the team needed Suryavanshi the most, he was not brought to bat.

On the other hand, Priyansh Arya had played an inning of 44 runs in 23 balls in this match. Priyansh, who hit 4 fours and 3 sixes, also seemed to be in good touch. Ignoring all this, the management started the super over with Jitesh Sharma and Ramandeep Singh. This can be called a big ‘blunder’ of the Indian team.

Bangladesh has defeated India in the semi-final match which lasted till Super Over. In this semi-final match of Asia Cup Rising Stars Tournament, the first innings of both Bangladesh and India teams ended on 194 runs. In such a situation, super over was resorted to. The Indian batsmen were out on the first two balls of the super over. In this way Bangladesh had to score only one run in the super over. Actually Bangladesh team won the super over without scoring any runs.

The match lasted till super over

Bangladesh had scored 194 runs while playing first. Bangladeshi batsmen had scored 50 runs in the last 2 overs. On the other hand, Indian batsmen were also able to score only 194 runs in the innings. When the super over came, captain Jitesh Sharma was out on the first ball and Ashutosh Sharma was also out on the second ball.

Bangladesh had to score only one run to win. Suyyash Sharma came to bowl for India, he bowled a googly ball in the very first attempt, on which Yasir Ali made a big shot, but Ramandeep Singh caught it at the boundary. The match once again became exciting, but the next ball Suyyash Sharma hit wide, which added one run to Bangladesh’s scorecard. By law, Bangladesh won the Super Over without scoring any runs.

The Indian team had got the target of 195 runs. In reply, Vaibhav Suryavanshi gave a explosive start to Team India by playing a stormy innings of 38 runs. On the other hand, Priyansh Arya also scored 44 runs. Both the openers gave a good start to India, yet Team India fell apart in the end.

Blunder happened on the last ball

Ashutosh Sharma was clean bowled on the fifth ball of the 20th over. India had to score 4 runs on the last ball. Raqibul Hasan was bowling and Harsh Dubey was in front. The result of Bangladesh’s ineffective fielding was that the Indian batsmen conceded 3 runs and the match reached the super over.

In the first semi-final of Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025, Bangladesh A, batting first, scored 194 runs, although till 18 overs it seemed that the maximum this innings would reach would be 160 runs. But a lot of runs were scored on Naman Dheer in the 19th over and Vaishakh Vijay Kumar in the 20th over, due to which Bangladesh could reach this big total.

Naman Dhir spent 28 runs in the 19th over.

The 19th over is considered the most important in T20, at this time whoever is batting tries to hit fast hits. This over started with a six, Bangladesh batsman Mahrub hit a six on the first ball. He hit 2 consecutive sixes on the second ball dot and then on the third and fourth ball. After hitting a four on the 5th ball, Mahrub also hit a six on the last ball of the over. A total of 28 runs came in this over.

50 runs in last 2 overs

The last over was bowled by Vaishakh Vijay Kumar, he too could not escape the attack of Bangladesh batsmen. A total of 22 runs came in this over. Yasir Ali hit 2 fours and 1 six in this over, while Mehrub hit a six on the last ball. Due to this, Bangladesh, which was on the score of 144 after 18 overs, was able to make a total score of 194.

Opener Habibur Rahman Sohan scored the most runs for Bangladesh A in the semi-finals, he scored 65 runs in 46 balls with the help of 5 sixes and 3 fours. Along with Zeeshan Alam, he made a partnership of 43 runs for the first wicket. Mahrub Hasan, who scored 28 runs in the 19th over, scored unbeaten 48 runs in 18 balls, in this innings he hit 6 sixes.

Vaishakh, Ramandeep and Naman Dheer proved costly

Naman Dhir had given only 5 runs in the first over, but his economy (16.50) deteriorated after giving away 28 runs in the second over. He gave 33 runs in 2 overs. Vaishakh Vijay Kumar gave away 51 runs in 4 overs. Ramandeep Singh took 1 wicket for 29 runs in 2 overs.

Gurjapneet Singh took the most wickets, but he also gave runs at an economy of 9.75. He gave 39 runs in 2 overs.

In the semi-final match of Asia Cup Rising Stars, Bangladesh has given a target of 195 runs to Team India. Habibur Rahman scored 65 runs for Bangladesh, apart from him, SM Mahrub thrashed the Indian bowlers by playing a stormy inning of 48 runs in 18 balls. Yasir Ali also contributed 17 runs in 9 balls. Bangladesh scored 28 runs in the 19th over and 22 runs in the last over of their innings.

61 runs scored in last 3 overs

At one time even scoring 170 runs seemed difficult for the Bangladesh team. The team’s score in 17 overs was 133 runs, but the Indian bowlers were badly beaten in the last 3 overs.
