When it was the turn of the Sultan Johar Cup, before the start of the match, Indian and Pakistani players gave high-fives to each other. It is worth noting that Pakistan Hockey Federation had already issued orders that Pakistani players should be prepared in advance for a situation like ‘no-handshake’.

Pak players were told that if the Indian team does not shake hands, then they should ignore it and neither should they argue or clash emotionally with the players of Team India. Where did the handshake controversy start?

The handshake controversy started when the match between India and Pakistan was played in the Cricket Asia Cup on 14 September. Before that match, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav did not shake hands with Pakistan captain Salman Aga at the time of toss. After winning the match, the Indian players did not come to shake hands with the Pakistani team and even closed the door of the dressing room. After that, the Indian team also adopted the policy of ‘no handshake’ in the Super-4 and Asia Cup final matches.

The India-Pakistan dispute took a severe form when the Indian team, after winning the final, refused to accept the trophy from the hands of ACC and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. What happened was that Naqvi had taken the trophy with him, which Team India has not been able to get till now.

The ‘No Handshek Controversy’ of India and Pakistan has taken a new twist. This controversy may go on long, because even after winning the Super 4 match, the Indian team has not joined hands with Pak players. Earlier, when the toss took place, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav did not join hands with Salman Aga. Tilak Verma and Hardik Pandya joined hands with both ground umpires and then walked towards the dressing room.

Tilak Verma ensured the Indian team’s victory by 6 wickets by hitting a four off Shaheen Afridi. When India and Pakistan came face to face in the group match, Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dubey went straight to the dressing room after winning by 7 wickets. Even in the Super 4 match, Indian players continued their policy and ignored the Pak players completely.

‘Gun celebration’ took revenge

In this match, the Pakistan team scored 171 runs while batting first. Sahibzada Farhan’s half -century innings contributed to this, who scored 58 runs. Actually, Farhan celebrated his fifty by holding the bat like a gun after completing 50 runs. Some Pakistani fans also started connecting this celebration to Operation Sindoor.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav had told about not having ‘handshake’ after the group stage match that it was not the decision of anyone but the team’s decision. The Indian team has responded to that ‘gun celebration’ somewhere by not joining hands with Pak players.

These two teams were the first match in the Super 4 phase. The Pakistan team scored 171 runs while batting first. The Pak batsmen had scored a defendable score, but the storm batting in Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill’s powerplay had put the match in India’s bag. Explain that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has complained to the ICC about this case, in which the laws related to sportsmanship were accused of violating. PCB has even demanded the removal of Andy Picroft, who was a match referee in an Indo-Pak match, with immediate effect.

Sourav Ganguly has broken the silence on the No-Handshek controversy, which is in the race for the post of President of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) .. Last Sunday Team India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets, but the Indian players went to the dressing room without joining hands with Pakistan team. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also filed a complaint in this case, a match against the referee Andy Paiyoft and against an Indian team.
