After winning the toss, Shubman Gill chose to bat first. Yashasvi Jaiswal completed his century (175) on the first day. Sai Sudarshan scored 87 runs and before that KL Rahul scored 38 runs. On the second day, Shubman Gill completed his century, Jaiswal was run out on 175. Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 43 runs and Dhruv Jurel scored 44 runs. India declared the first innings at 518/5.

West Indies’ first innings was all out at 248, Alick Athanaz (41) scored the most runs in the first innings for the visiting team. For India, Kuldeep Yadav took maximum 5 wickets, Ravindra Jadeja took 3 wickets. Siraj and Bumrah got 1-1 wicket. West Indies could not save the follow-on, Gill asked the visiting team to bat again.

By the end of the fourth day in the Delhi Test, the Indian team has scored 63 runs at the loss of one wicket. Team India still has to score 58 more runs to win. For the 10th wicket, Jaden Seals and Justin Greaves made a partnership of 79 runs to take the team to the score of 390. Jasprit Bumrah shook the lower order batsmen of West Indies on the fourth day. Bumrah dismissed the last 3 batsmen of West Indies.

India has a target of 121

The Indian team had given follow-on to West Indies. Due to the lead, the Indian team got the target of 121 runs. In the second innings, when Yashasvi Jaiswal came to bat, due to playing fast, he was out after scoring only 8 runs. On the fourth day, India lost only the wicket of Jaiswal. West Indies had increased their score to 140/4 on the third day. No batsman could play a big innings, as a result West Indies lost the remaining 6 wickets in scoring 108 runs. The Caribbean team scored 248 runs in the first innings, but this score proved insufficient to save the follow-on. West Indies was behind by 270 runs in the first innings. Kuldeep Yadav took 5 wickets for India in the first innings.

West Indies’ tremendous comeback

West Indies lost 2 wickets at the score of just 35 in the second innings. Team India was beginning to have hopes of victory, but the Indian bowlers lost their sweat due to the amazing combination of John Campbell and Shay Hope. Campbell is close to his century and is playing on 87 runs. On the other hand, Shay Hope has scored 66 runs. Their 138-run partnership has brought West Indies back into the match, although they still need 97 runs to avoid defeat.

Washington Sundar and Mohammad Siraj have taken one wicket each for India in the second innings. If Team India stops West Indies from scoring the remaining 97 runs on the fourth day, then it will get an innings victory.
