News came that the Chinese army had penetrated 60 kilometers inside the Indian border. There were reports of Chinese army entering 60 kilometers inside Taksing area of Upper Subansari district of Arunachal Pradesh and building new camps. The claim is so serious that it is naturally raising concerns and questions among people, but has this actually happened? The government has clarified the position on this claim.

PIB Fact check has declared this viral claim to be completely fake. According to PIB Fact Check, the video being shared on social media has no connection with the India-China border. That is, the video which is being spread as the infiltration of the Chinese army on the border, is misleading and is being circulated with false claims.

PIB Fact Check has said in clear words, “This claim is fake. The videos being circulated on social media are not from the India-China border and have no connection with this claim.”

<iframe title="Mumbai Weather Alert: बारिश बनी आफत, मुंबई में स्कूल-कॉलेज बंद!
News related to India-China border is always considered sensitive. In such a situation, any unconfirmed video or message going viral can spread confusion. This is why the government has appealed to the people to rely only on information from official and verified sources on important issues like border security.

Videos and posts that go viral with fake claims are often old, from other countries or from a different incident, which are presented in a new context. This not only creates confusion among the people, but also causes misinformation to spread rapidly on matters related to national security.

What was the real news?

Recently, the latest satellite images revealed the construction of a new road by China on the India-Tibet border with Arunachal Pradesh. The road connects two settlements in the disputed area, which has been under Chinese control since 1959 and currently lies across the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The new road connects a village settled in 2021 to a new settlement developed in 2026. Dual-use facilities like helipads and cement plants are also visible in these settlements.

The Indian government has rejected claims of recent Chinese infiltration. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and the Indian Army say that the border in this area has not been formally determined, hence both the countries have different perceptions regarding LAC. According to Rijiju, in such a situation, patrolling from both sides sometimes reaches areas claimed by each other, which is called ‘transgression’, not infiltration.

Experts believe that China’s rapidly expanding infrastructure on the border is a strategic challenge for India. In response to this, India is also rapidly progressing road, tunnel and other border infrastructure projects in Arunachal Pradesh.

What does PIB Fact Check say?

Many times even true news is presented in a different context and false notions are created. If you also come across any such suspicious video, photo or claim, then avoid sharing it further without checking. First verify its source and see if any official agency has released information on it. Spreading misinformation may inadvertently promote rumours.

Galwan Valley Clash: An emotional scene was witnessed in China ahead of Mother’s Day, which brought back memories of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash. The mothers of Chinese soldiers Chen Xiangrong, Xiao Siyuan and Wang Zhuran, who were killed in the Galwan clash, reached the Military Museum in Beijing. There he lovingly touched the statues of his sons and wrote down his feelings remembering them. These pictures and videos are now becoming increasingly viral on Chinese social media.

There was a bloody clash in Galvan Valley in 2020

There was a violent clash between the soldiers of India and China in the Galwan Valley of eastern Ladakh on the night of 15 and 16 June 2020. This incident is considered to be one of the biggest incidents increasing tension between the two countries. It was told from the Indian side that 20 soldiers of the Indian Army were martyred in this clash. Whereas China had initially denied the death of any of its soldiers.

Death of Chinese soldiers still remains a mystery

After the incident, many international reports claimed the death of Chinese soldiers. In different reports, this number ranged from four to 40, but China did not officially share any information for a long time. According to a Tribune report, China admitted for the first time in February 2021 that four of its soldiers were killed in the Galwan clash. However, later some reports also claimed that 40 Chinese soldiers were killed. An Australian newspaper had claimed that 38 soldiers of China’s People’s Liberation Army were killed in the Galwan clash. Despite this, till date no clear data has come out from China.

Also read- ‘Do not buy gold for one year’, PM Modi appealed to the country, what did he say about the price of petrol and diesel?

Silence on deaths is China’s old strategy

Experts believe that it has been China’s old policy to maintain silence regarding the deaths of its soldiers. China had released similarly limited data during the 1962 India-China war and the 1967 Nathu La conflict in Sikkim. About 400 PLA soldiers were said to have been killed in Nathu La, but China acknowledged only a few deaths. Even in the Galvan case, China’s attitude is being linked to the same strategy.

Military activities increased on the border after Galwan conflict

The Galwan clash of 15 June 2020 was the first deadly encounter between the armies of India and China on the LAC in the last five decades. After this incident, there was a lot of tension in the relations between the two countries. After the Galwan conflict, India has significantly strengthened its military infrastructure, surveillance system and combat capability along the approximately 3500 km long Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. Continuous talks are going on between the two countries at military and diplomatic level, but the tension on the border is still not completely over.

Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan said on Saturday (October 11, 2025) that Uttarakhand, being a border state, is a strategically very sensitive and important state and there is a need to be alert and cautious on the China border.

Addressing a rally of ex-servicemen here, General Chauhan said that Uttarakhand has a 350 km border with China and 275 km border with Nepal, which makes the state sensitive and strategically important from the security point of view.

India needs to remain alert on LAC

He said, ‘Uttarakhand’s border with China is very quiet and hence sometimes we forget that Uttarakhand is a border state. We should keep in mind that we have some differences with China regarding LAC (Line of Control) and border and sometimes these come to the fore, like in the Barahoti area. For this reason we all have to be alert and cautious.

Chief of Defense Staff appealed to the people of the border areas to actively participate in the security of the border and said that monitoring the borders is not only the responsibility of the army, but the awareness of the local people is also equally important.

CDS recited the famous dialogue of the film ‘Aankhen’

Describing the people living in border areas, especially ex-servicemen, as ‘eyes’, the CDS said that if they remain alert, the borders will remain even stronger. On this occasion, he also recited the famous dialogue of the film ‘Aankhen’, ‘No one can touch the borders of that country, which is guarded by the eyes’.

General Chauhan also said that on the lines of the way cooperative societies supply food to the Army in Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh, now this system will be started in Uttarakhand also. He said that at present the products related to dairy and animal husbandry are being taken from cooperative societies and in the coming time, fresh ration will also be taken from them. This will not only ensure smooth supply of goods to the border areas, but will also provide economic benefits to the local people.

US President Donald Trump has prepared a new plan to stop the Gaza war, which talks about creating a buffer zone between Gaza and Israel. Trump says that Qatar, Pakistan and many other countries have agreed on this scheme. He has claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also agreed to this proposal. However, his recent statement on Netanyahu’s consent raises questions.

The buffer zone means that there will be an area between Israel and Gaza where no soldier or citizen will be able to enter. Trump has described it as the path of permanent peace in Gaza. According to this plan of Trump, Israel will gradually pour the army back from most parts of Gaza and a place will also be prepared for the release of the hostages.

Three lines of Trump’s buffer zone in Gaja

To stop the Gaza war, Trump has shown this zone by drawing three lines on the map regarding the buffer zone plan. In these three lines …

Blue line- Israeli’s present Army
Yellow line- Israeli army will arrive to leave hostage
Red line- Israeli army will stop here

At the same time, Trump has also laid a condition about this buffer John that Gaza will be made terrorism free and if both sides agree then the war will end immediately. After this, Israel will release 250 life prisoners and 1700 other Gaza residents.

What is the system on India China border

Buffer zones and patrolling systems have been implemented in many places on the line of actual control between India and China. After tension in the Galwan Valley and other areas of Ladakh in April 2020, the two countries made several agreements to control and control military activities along the border. According to these agreements, the armies of India and China are deployed in a limited area in the buffer zone established in eastern Ladakh. Soldiers have been kept behind from the disputed region such as Galwan, Pangong Tso and Hot Springs. In this, the military pioneer post has been kept separate. Regarding the buffer zone on the India China border, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had also said that many sensitive issues along the border in India and China resolved. Through patrolling and buffer zone, both sides can protect their soldiers and political facilities.

Is there such a system with Pakistan

No system like buffer zone is applied on the Indo-Pak border at present. But for control and monitoring, petrol, posts and strategic vision have been arranged on the border. Especially these patrolling systems are actively applicable on the borders of Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan. Agreements for continuous monitoring and firing control between the two countries have also been made from time to time.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval said on Tuesday (August 19, 2025) that India-China relations have improved in the last nine months, as there has been peace on the border. He interacted with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the tension on the border and related issues.

Doval and Wang held a 24th round of talks under the framework of the Special Representative Tantra, a day earlier, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar met his Chinese counterpart. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that the Indian side strongly raised the issue of all kinds of terrorism including border terrorism and reminded that one of the original objectives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was to combat the evil of terrorism.

Transparency required in dam construction

There is less than a fortnight left at the annual SCO summit to be held in China. The statement said that Jaishankar also outlined India’s concerns regarding the construction of a huge dam being carried out by China at the bottom of the Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra River), as it would have an impact on the lower coastal states.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that it said that the need for excessive transparency in this regard was strongly underlined. In the Special Representative (SR) talks, issues related to ‘reducing stress, delimitation and boundary matters’ were discussed. Wang arrived in Delhi on a two -day visit on Monday (August 18, 2025).

Peace and harmony on borders

He further said that his journey is being seen as part of the efforts being made by both neighbors to rectify his relationship again. After the fierce struggle in the Galwan Valley in 2020, there was a lot of tussle in relations between the two countries.

In his initial address on television, the National Security Advisor recalled his Beijing Yatra last December for the previous round of Special Representative Dialogue and said that since then there has been a ‘tendency of advancement in relations between the two sides’. He said, ‘The boundaries are calm, peace and harmony remains, our bilateral relations have become more solid.

PM Modi will visit China

Doval has also formally announced that PM Modi will visit China to attend the SCO summit to be held in Tianjin on 31 August and 01 September. He said that in view of this visit, the talks of special representatives have achieved great importance.

Doval also mentioned the talks between Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping during a multilateral program in the Russian city of Kazan in October last year and said that both sides have benefited greatly since then. Doval said, “The new atmosphere that has created, has helped us to move forward in various fields that we were working on.”

It is necessary to increase mutual confidence through strategic communication

The meeting between Modi and Jinping took place between India and China two days after the agreement to retreat the remaining two confrontation points in East Ladakh from Depsang and Demchok. The two leaders have decided to recur many things, including talks between special representatives to normalize bilateral relations.

The Chinese Foreign Minister in his statement said that both sides should increase mutual confidence through strategic communication, expand shared interests through exchange and cooperation and properly resolve specific issues on boundaries.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to China is of special importance

Wang said, ‘We are happy to see that now the stability on the boundaries has been restored. Now there is an important opportunity for improvement and development in bilateral relations. The Chinese side gives great importance to the Prime Minister’s visit to China to attend the SCO summit on our invitation. The Ministry of External Affairs said in its statement that in the discussion between the two foreign ministers, bilateral, regional and international issues of shared interest were discussed.

He said that the Indian side strongly raised the issue of all kinds of terrorism including cross -border terrorism and reminded that one of the basic objectives of the SCO was to combat the evil of terrorism. Minister Wang has agreed that the top priority should be given to combat terrorism. In the Special Representative Dialogue, both sides discussed the Line of Actual Control (LAC) to maintain peace and harmony.

China’s mega-dam project on Brahmaputra: China on Saturday started construction of a huge dam project on the Brahmaputra River (called Yarlung Tsangpo in Tibet). This region is very close to the border of Arunachal Pradesh in India. Chinese Prime Minister Lee Kyang participated in the foundation stone program of this project. The project is being added to China’s carbon neutral policy and the development goals of the Tibet region.

Claim of power generation and development in Tibet
According to China’s official news agency Xinhua, electricity produced from the dam will be mainly sent to areas outside Tibet, although local needs will also be met by it. The government claims that this project will also accelerate the economic development of Tibet region.

Investment of five hydropower stations and 1.2 trillion yuan
The project will include five large hydropower stations, and its total estimated expenditure is described as 1.2 trillion yuan (about 167 billion dollars). When this project is completed, it will generate more electricity than the three gorges dams on the Yangtse River.

India and Bangladesh feared environmental and water crisis
The Brahmaputra River passes through India and Bangladesh, so both countries have expressed concern about this project. Experts believe that this can have a serious impact on Brahmaputra’s stream, water quality and ecology.

India had already raised objection
The Government of India clearly stated to China in January 2024 that ‘any activity in the upper part should not harm the interests of the states settled in the lower parts of the Brahmaputra’. The Ministry of External Affairs had expressed concern that this activity of China could affect India’s Northeast and Bangladesh.

China’s answer: ‘There will be no negative effect’
China responded to India’s objection and said that the construction of the dam would not have any negative impact on the low -lying areas. However, environmentalists and experts have doubted the claim and warned that such large construction in a sensitive field like Tibet can lead to changes related to permanent and irreparable ecology.

India-china relationship: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, in a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Dong June in Chingdao on 26 June, proposed that India and China should take ‘complex issues’ under a well -organized outline by taking steps related to reducing tension on borders and reviving the existing system of determining borders.

Regarding this, China said on Monday (June 30, 2025) that the border dispute with India is complicated and it will take time to resolve it, but at the same time it also expressed his desire to discuss the determination of the borders and keep the situation peaceful.

India-China border dispute will end

Singh and Dong held bilateral talks on the sidelines of the conference of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Chingdao, which talked about maintaining peace and stability along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). When asked about China’s response to the Defense Minister’s remarks, Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said, “I can tell you that China and India have established a special team on the subject related to the border and political parameters and guiding principles have been agreed to solve the Chinese-India border issues.”

He said that there is a diplomatic and military communication system at various levels between the two sides. Ning said, “China is ready to maintain dialogue on other issues including border determination and border management with India, maintain peace and stability in border areas and promote border exchange and cooperation.”

There will be peace and stability on the border

When asked about the delay in resolving the Seema issue despite a special representative level 23 round of talks, Ning said, ‘Seema’s question is complex and it takes time to solve it. The positive side is that both countries have already established mechanisms at different levels for intensive dialogue. We hope that India will work in this direction with China, will continue dialogue on relevant issues and will maintain peace and stability in the border areas.

The 23rd meeting as special representatives was held between National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in December last year. This was the first meeting of special representatives after a confrontation in the western region of Indo-China border areas in 2020.

India will move towards having good relations with neighboring country

According to a statement issued by India, in a meeting with Dong, the Defense Minister emphasized the need to establish a ‘good neighborhood circumstances’ to maintain good relations and laid down on the ‘lack of trust’ resulting as a result of the deadlock in Eastern Ladakh in 2020 to overcome the ‘lack of trust’.

It was agreed between India and China in October last year to end the military deadlock on LAC in East Ladakh, after which Rajnath Singh and Dong met amidst efforts to re -establish New Delhi and Beijing relations.

China Action after Operation Sindoor: India recently entered the neighboring country of Pakistan under Operation Sindoor and destroyed several camps of terrorists. More than 100 terrorists sitting in Pakistan were killed in this operation. When Pakistan took military action, India destroyed 12 airbase of Pakistan. Apart from this, his air defense systems were also demolished. Seeing such a lot of Pakistan, his friend China is nervous. Evidence of this has been seen. Recently, a satellite image has confirmed that now on Nagari Gusa airbase located in Tibet, not only civil flights, but also military operations have started.

The presence of four J-11 fighter jet and a Y-20 transport aircraft has been recorded for the first time on Nagari Gusa Airbase. Open Source Intelligence has claimed that the activity of the apron is indicating the operational activity of the recently developed military wing of Nagari Gusa. The location of Nagari Gusa Airbase makes it strategically extremely important. This airbase is very close to Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

What is Y-20 transport aircraft?

The Y-20 Kunpeng is China’s largest military transport aircraft, developed by the Sheian Aircraft Industrial Corporation. This aircraft can lift a weight of 66 tonnes. It can easily fly 4,500 kilometers at a time. It has the ability to deliver tanks, heavy weapons, soldiers immediately at any place. Its strength is equal to the C-17 GlobeMaster III. Its deployment indicates that China is not only ready for airstrikes, but also for sharp troupe mobilization and supply.

How powerful is J-11 fighter jet?

The J-11 fighter aircraft has been prepared by China by copying Russia’s SU-27. Its range is 3,530 km. Its deployment shows that China is now turning Tibet’s airbase into an active fighter role, earlier only considered only support base. This fighter airbase can penetrate the aircraft of Ladakh in minutes. The Indian Air Force can be put under additional pressure to give rapid response to North India.

What is the danger to India?

China’s strategically active airbase can create political imbalance in the Himalayan region. Due to the activation of Nagari Gusa, Shigatsse and Lhasa Airbase, pressure can be created for India from three directions. PLA deployment is no longer limited to the infantry. Now there are also fighter aircraft, transporters and drones. This can be a part of the strategy of pressurizing LAC and pushing India back into conversation.
