India has once again given a clear message to China and Pakistan regarding Shaksgam Valley. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi reiterated that the border agreement signed between Pakistan and China in 1963 is completely illegal and invalid for India. He said that Shaksgam Valley is a part of India and India does not recognize any kind of activity there. On this issue, the Ministry of External Affairs has already clarified that India has the right to take every necessary step to protect its interests.

India does not accept the 1963 agreement
The Army Chief said in the press conference that Pakistan had handed over part of the Shaksgam Valley to China under the 1963 agreement, which India never accepted. He clearly said, ‘We do not accept any activity there. This agreement is illegal for us. General Dwivedi said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is also not acceptable for India. He called it an illegal work being done by both the countries and said that this project passes through Indian territory.

Army’s stance on women’s entry
The Army Chief said that in future women can also join Infantry and Para-SF, but the society will have to be prepared for this. He clarified that the Army does not talk about gender equality but about gender neutrality. If women meet the standards and medical fitness set by the army, then doors are open for them. General Dwivedi said that the Army hopes that the defense budget will increase in the coming time, so that the capabilities can be further strengthened.

Strength increased from 13 Bhairav battalion
He told that till now 13 Bhairav Light Commando battalions have been raised in the Indian Army. These units will bridge the gap between the lethal platoons of Infantry and Para-SF and will meet the needs of modern warfare.

New reality of drone war
The Army Chief said that it is difficult to estimate the number of drones today. There may be thousands of drones on the 500 kilometer border. He told that the Indian Army has also tested drones with a range of 100 kilometers and the capability to make drones is being developed in every command.

Strategy changed after Operation Sindoor
General Dwivedi said that after Operation Sindoor, the role of drones has become stronger. Under this, ‘Ashni Platoons’ have been formed in infantry battalions, in which specially trained drone operators are deployed.

Bhairav Battalion and Divyastra Battery
He said that Bhairav battalions have been equipped with UAS and counter-UAS systems, heavy ammunition and modern resources. Apart from this, ‘Divyastra Battery’ has been created in the artillery, which will provide direct support to the division commander.

India’s watchful eye on Bangladesh
General Dwivedi said that currently there is an interim government in Bangladesh, hence there is no need for India to react immediately. He said that the three armies are in constant contact with the Bangladesh Army and no activity is against India.

Terrorist presence in Jammu, deployment strengthened
The Army Chief said that there is a presence of about 40 terrorists in Jammu area, south of Pir Panjal, most of whom are Pakistanis. He said that there will be no reduction in military deployment in this area.

Ceasefire violation and Operation Sindoor
He said that so far in 2025, there have been 139 ceasefire violations, out of which 124 times took place during Operation Sindoor. In Operation Sindoor, 7 out of 9 targets were destroyed and this operation is still going on.

Situation on North and North-Eastern Border
The Army Chief said that the situation on the northern border is stable, but vigilance is necessary. Indian deployment on LAC remains balanced and strong. The situation in Manipur in the Northeast has improved during 2025 and cooperation will further improve after the Myanmar elections.

Operation Vermillion still going on
In the end, General Upendra Dwivedi clearly said that Operation Sindoor is not over yet. Any misadventure in future will be responded to with full force. He appreciated the role of CAPFs, intelligence agencies, state administration and all ministries.

A report has come from America’s Defense Department Pentagon regarding China. It has been claimed that China is trying to put obstacles in the way of expanding the strategic partnership between Washington and New Delhi. In this report released on Tuesday (December 23, 2025), emphasis has also been laid on China’s military cooperation with Pakistan and the rapid increase in nuclear weapons.

How is China wooing India?

The Pentagon report also reiterated China’s territorial claims on Arunachal Pradesh, describing the Indian state as part of Beijing’s declared ‘core interests’. According to the report, China’s inclination towards India is driven by broader strategic concerns, especially Washington’s growing engagement with New Delhi. It says that Beijing is trying to prevent deeper relations between India and America by taking advantage of the reduced tension on LAC.

For the past several years, America has been looking at India as a balance to China’s growing influence in the Indo-Pacific region. The Pentagon document shows that Beijing hopes that diplomatic relations with India may prevent the alliance from strengthening.

Relations deteriorated after Galwan clash

In the year 2020, relations between India and China deteriorated rapidly after the violent clash in Galwan Valley of Ladakh, in which 20 Indian soldiers were martyred. Beijing had claimed martyrdom of four of its soldiers. After this deadlock, both sides held several rounds of talks at military, diplomatic and political levels. Despite this, areas like Demchok and Depsang remained unresolved.

The report said that in October last year, India and China had announced patrolling arrangements on the LAC, which resulted in the withdrawal of troops in eastern Ladakh. The development paved the way for a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia. This was the first formal conversation between PM Modi and Xi Jinping after the clashes of 2020. The same meeting included peace on the LAC between the two countries, resumption of direct flights and visa services.

However, it has also been made clear in the report that India is completely alert about Beijing’s intentions. He is skeptical about China’s actions and intentions. It further says that due to mutual distrust and many problems between the two countries, their relations are limited.

What is there in the report regarding Arunachal Pradesh?

The report also draws attention to China’s broader territorial claims, especially its stance on Arunachal Pradesh. According to the US Defense Department, Beijing has further expanded the scope of its ‘core interests’ to include sovereignty claims over Taiwan, Arunachal Pradesh, almost the entire South China Sea and the Senkaku Islands amid territorial disputes.

China calls Arunachal Pradesh ‘Zangnan, the southern part of Tibet’, a claim India strongly rejects and believes the state is an integral part of the country.

The document states that China considers three ‘core interests’ essential for national revitalization and there can be no compromise on them. 1- Maintaining control of the Chinese Communist Party, 2- Advancing economic development and 3- Protecting and expanding territorial claims.

China’s stance regarding Taiwan in the report

The Pentagon report also assesses China’s attitude towards Taiwan, saying that Beijing considers force, if necessary, necessary for unification for national revitalization. However, it also says that Chinese leaders are ‘uncertain about the readiness of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to successfully occupy Taiwan in the face of US intervention.’

China is making Pakistan a strategic weapon against India

China has a compulsion to maintain good relations with India. If he spoils relations with India, he will have to suffer the consequences. This is the reason why it is using Pakistan as a strategic weapon against India. The report says that this is why China is providing Pakistan with advanced military equipment, including frigates, fighter aircraft and armed drones.

By May 2025, China had delivered 20 of the 36 J-10C multirole fighter jets to Pakistan. Strike-capable Kaihong and Wing Loong unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were also given.

US defense assessments suggest that China and Pakistan are working together to put pressure on India through ‘grey zone operations’, using pressure tactics to avoid open conflict. American intelligence sources have described Islamabad as China’s ‘pressure valve’ against India.

Nuclear weapons increased rapidly in China

The Pentagon report also focuses on China’s rapidly increasing nuclear weapons. The Pentagon estimates that Beijing is adding about 100 nuclear weapons every year and by the end of 2024 its stockpile will exceed 600.

It is estimated that by 2030, China will have about 1,000 nuclear weapons, which can be deployed in missiles, submarines and bombers. The report concludes that China’s historic military buildup has increased America’s tension and reshaped the regional security balance.

India and China held another high-level military talks on maintaining peace and security along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The Corps Commander level meeting took place on October 25 at the Moldo-Chushul point on the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control. This was the first such conversation between the two armies after the Special Representatives talks between National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in August.

India-China agree to maintain peace on LAC

The Foreign Ministry said that the talks took place in a friendly and cordial atmosphere. The ministry said that both sides took note of the progress made since the 22nd round of Corps Commander level meeting in October 2024 and agreed that peace and harmony have been maintained in the India-China border areas. “Both sides agreed to continue using existing mechanisms to resolve any ground issues along the border to maintain stability,” the ministry said.

Efforts to improve relations between India and China

India and China have initiated several measures in the last few months to normalize their relations after India and China ended more than four years of military standoff along the LAC in eastern Ladakh in October last year. The standoff effectively ended after the withdrawal of troops from the last two friction points of Demchok and Depsang was completed.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited India on 19 August 2025. India and China subsequently announced several measures for stable, cooperative and forward-looking relations, including jointly maintaining border peace, reopening of border trade and promoting investment flows.

Corps Commander level talks held in Ladakh

The Ministry of External Affairs said on the corps-commander talks, “This was the first meeting of the general-level mechanism in the western sector since the 24th round of talks of Special Representatives held on August 19 last.” A Chinese statement on the corps-commander talks said the two sides held active and in-depth dialogue on the management of the western side of the China-India border.

It said that both sides have decided to maintain communication and dialogue as per the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. “They agreed to continue communication and dialogue through military and diplomatic channels under the guidance of the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, and to jointly maintain peace and tranquility in the China-India border areas,” China’s Defense Ministry statement said.

60 thousand soldiers still deployed

Both sides have withdrawn their troops from the conflict areas, but have not withdrawn frontline forces from the border. Currently, around 50,000 to 60,000 troops from each side are deployed along the Line of Actual Control in the eastern Ladakh region.

The military standoff in eastern Ladakh began in May 2020 and resulted in a deadly clash in the Galwan Valley in June the same year, severely straining relations between the two neighbours. The decision to revive various dialogue mechanisms between India and China was taken at a meeting between Modi and Xi in the Russian city of Kazan in October last year.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to China has been completed and he has left from Tianjin. In view of the 50 percent tariff imposed on India by US President Donald Trump, PM Modi’s visit to China proved to be very important. PM Modi surrounded Pakistan over terrorism at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, while Donald Trump has also received a strong message with China and Russia on a platform with China and Russia. Read the big things of PM Modi’s SCO Summit-

1- PM Modi reached Tianjin in China on 31 August from Japan. He was given a grand welcome on the red carpet here. Chinese President Xi Jinping also welcomed PM Modi with warmth. In the photo session of the SCO Summit, PM Modi stood in the first line, where Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin stood. Apart from these, Turki President Erdogan, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also stood in the first line.

2- During the SCO Summit, a brilliant tuning between Prime Minister Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin appeared. During this time, where Putin hugged PM Modi, his tuning also appeared with Xi Jinping. The three leaders stood together and were talking with each other smiling.

3- A unique incident also appeared during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Tianjin. When Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Putin were moving forward talking together, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stood in one corner. During this time he appeared under great stress. The video of this incident is going viral on social media.

4- Prime Minister Modi targeted Pakistan fiercely by referring to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam during the SCO Summit. PM Modi said, ‘India is facing the brunt of terrorism. How many mothers lost their children and how many children became orphans. Recently, we saw a very disgusting form of terror in Pahalgam. In this hour of grief, I thank the friendly countries who stood with us. This attack was not only on the soul of India, but was a challenge to every country and person believing in humanity. In such a situation, it is natural to raise the question whether we can accept open support of terrorism by some countries. We have to say clearly and in the same tone that we will not be acceptable to any double standard on terrorism. Together we have to oppose terrorism in every color and form. This is our responsibility towards humanity.

In this photo, PM Modi and Putin were sitting in the same car together. During this, both leaders were seen talking. It has also been revealed that when Putin was about to leave for bilateral talks, he expressed his desire to go with PM Modi. For this, the Russian President had also waited for PM Modi for 10 minutes so that the PM would come with him. After this, the two leaders left for the bilateral talk site from the same car.
6- Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a bilateral conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, ‘India and Russia have always stood shoulder to shoulder even in the most difficult situations. Our close cooperation is important not only for the people of both countries, but also for global peace, stability and prosperity. Regarding the Ukraine war, PM Modi said that we are constantly discussing the ongoing struggle in Ukraine. We welcome all recent efforts for peace. During this conversation, Putin called PM Modi a ‘friend’.

7- PM Modi also invited Putin to come to India during bilateral talks. He said, ‘I always feel that meeting you has been a memorable experience. We got an opportunity to exchange information on many subjects. We have been in constant touch. There have been several high-level meetings between the two sides on a regular basis. 140 crore Indians are eagerly waiting for our 23rd summit to be held in December this year.

8- Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said in a bilateral meeting with PM Modi, ‘I am very happy to meet you. The SCO provides a platform to unite global south and east countries. The 15th anniversary is to develop India-Russia relations as a ‘special and privileged strategic partnership’ on December 21, 2025. We have multidimensional relations. Today’s meeting is expected to give significant boost to India-Russia relations. Russia and India have very good relations.

9- In the manifesto of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Pahalgam terror attack has been condemned. The declaration has expressed condolences to the families of the injured in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April 2025. The manifesto further states that the culprits, organizers and sponsors of such attacks should be brought into the dock of justice.

10- Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the visit to China as successful and said that in this visit I attended the SCO summit and interacted with various world leaders. Also emphasized India’s stand on major global issues. Thanks to President Xi Jinping, Chinese government and public for the successful organization of this summit.

The way US President Donald Trump put indiscriminate tariffs, India and China came together before the economic turmoil. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who came to attend the SCO Summit in Tianjin, met Chinese President Xi Jinping and the two countries showed solidarity and sent a message to Trump that elephants and dragons had come together. Trump’s trade advisor Peter Navaro, who was stunned by India-China, once again said about India that he is financed by Ukraine War.

Peter Navaro gave a statement against India and said that Russia’s ‘war machine’ is being promoted by India buying Russian oil. Criticizing India, Navaro said, ‘India is fining Russia to continue war in Ukraine by purchasing Russian oil. India is increasing the war by purchasing cheap oil from Russia.

India used to buy very little oil from Russia before Ukraine war: Navaro

In an interview to Fox News, Peter Navaro said that India had not only bought Russian oil, but also bought a very small amount of Russian oil before Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine. After all, what happened is that Russian refiners joined with big oil companies in India.

India earning money with Russian oil: Navaro

He said, ‘Putin gives exemption on crude oil to Indian Prime Minister Modi. They refine it and send it to Europe, Africa and Asia and earn a lot of money. This promotes the Russian war machine. India is nothing but a laundry machine for Kremlin, which is helping Russia kill Ukrainians.

Peter Navaro has given statements against India before

Trump’s advisor Navaro has given statements against India earlier and has described India as a financer of Ukraine War. He had said, ‘American consumers buy Indian goods, while India keeps out American exports through high tariffs. India uses our dollar to buy concessional dandruff crude oil.

Meeting between PM Modi and Xi Jinping

In Tianjin, China, there was bilateral talks between PM Modi and President Xi Jinping on Sunday (August 31) on the sidelines of the SCO Summit. During this time, the two countries expressed their commitment to increase their cooperation and strengthen relations. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that PM Modi and Jinping emphasized the need to increase the shared base on challenges such as bilateral, regional and global issues. Also reiterated that India and China are partners of development, not rivals and differences should not be changed into controversies. According to the ministry, Prime Minister Modi invited President Xi for the BRICS summit, which India will host in 2026.

America imposed 50 percent tariff on India

Donald Trump had imposed a 25 percent tariff on India, but by making excuses for the purchase of oil from Russia, he imposed a 25 percent tariff, which has come into force from 27 August. Trump’s tariff is likely to cause damage to India in many sectors, in view of which India is looking for different markets for different sectors. Meanwhile, relations with China are also getting better, in such a situation, Trump’s tariff is not expected to have much effect.

Also read- ‘India buys Russian oil using US dollars’, then Trump’s advisor lies a lot

The war between India and China took place in 1962, which is known as the Indo-China war or the Sino-Indian War. This war ran from 20 October 1962 to 20 November 1962. This war happened due to border dispute between India and China, which is still a matter of discussion. The roots of this war are hidden in historical, geographical and political factors. Let us know what was the main reason for India’s war and who was harmed in this war?

The reason for the war between India and China

The main reason for the war between India China was a dispute over the sovereignty of the border areas of Aksai China and Arunachal Pradesh. Aksai Chin, which India considers part of Ladakh, considers China part of Shinjiang province. The confrontation started from here turned into war. Apart from this, the issue of Tibet was also important. China was angry with the Dalai Lama taking refuge in India in 1959. He felt that India was supporting activities against him in Tibet.

India gave a tough competition to China

The Chinese military started attacks together on 20 October 1962 in Ladakh and across the McMahon line. Due to the area of inaccessible snow -covered hills, India had deployed soldiers from all over, while China landed in the battlefield with complete preparation. The Chinese army rapidly infiltrated Indian regions. There were 10 to 20 thousand soldiers of India and a war broke out between 80 thousand soldiers of China. China landed with 8 times more soldiers in the battlefield, but Indian soldiers gave them a tough fight. However, in this war, China was successful in capturing many regions of India. The Chinese army captured Rajangla in Chushul in the western region and Tawang in the east. After this, the ceasefire announced on 20 November 1962.

How much was the loss?
