England openers Jack Crole and Ben Docket shared a 166 -run partnership for the first wicket. When both were batting, it seemed that ODI is being played, not Tests. Both added 166 runs in 32 overs. Crowle was dismissed as the first wicket by scoring 84 runs off 113 balls. Ravindra Jadeja broke this partnership. After this, Ben Docket was dismissed for 94 runs on the score of 197. He was dismissed by Anshul Kamboj, playing his first Test.

Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy may be out of the remaining two Test matches of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy due to knee injury. Nitish did not participate in the alternative training session with the team on Sunday.

According to the report of ESPN Cricinfo, Reddy suffered injuries during training in the gym on Sunday. Injary has been detected in the ligament in the scan report.

Reddy’s injury may return to Shardul Thakur’s playing XI. Reddy was included in the team as a depth in India’s batting and the fourth fast bowling option. Reddy, who was out of the first Test, played the second and third Tests.

Reddy had a disappointing performance in the last two Tests. He could score only 45 runs in four innings. His best score was 30 runs in the first innings at Lord’s. He also took 2 wickets in two Tests.

Reddy’s injury is going to increase India’s trouble. The Indian team is already in trouble due to the injury of Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh and Rishabh Pant. Left -arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh suffered a deep injury to his hand during a training session.

Arshdeep Singh has been out of the fourth Test. In his place, BCCI has included Anshul Kamboj in the team. 24 -year -old Kamboj has taken 79 wickets in 24 first -class matches for Haryana. He was part of the India ‘A’ team, which went on a tour of England in the last month. His performance in two four -day matches was good. IND vs Eng: Indian captain Shubman Gill hoped on Monday that wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant will fit to play in the fourth Test to be held in Manchester as there has been no major injury in his finger in the scan (investigation).

In the second session on the early day of the recently concluded the third Test against England, Pant had to leave the ground after an injury to the left index finger. Gill said in a press conference after the match, “Pant went for a scan. There is no major injury, so he should be cured for the fourth Test in Manchester. ”

Gill did not even say whether Jasprit Bumrah will be available for the next Test starting after a gap of nine days. In the 34th over of England’s innings, Pant was groaning in pain after hitting the left off of Jasprit Bumrah to the left. He did not take wicketkeeping after this. Dhruv Jurael took the front behind the wicket in his place.

Pant, however, did not look comfortable while batting in India’s second innings. He was dismissed by scoring nine runs. England are ahead 2–1 in the five-match series and its fourth Test will be played from 23 July.

Team India’s defeat in third test

The hosts have won the third match of the five -match Test series between India and England by 22 runs. With this, England has taken a 2–1 lead in this series.
