India has given a befitting reply on Thursday (August 14, 2025) regarding the anti-India statements being given by Pakistan. India warned Pakistan that it would have to suffer painful and serious consequences of any wrong step.

The Ministry of External Affairs (Mea) has termed these statements of Pakistan as a well-known strategy, which aims to create an anti-India environment and distract everyone’s attention from its failures.

India warns on Pakistan’s rhetoric

Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said in a press conference on Thursday (August 14, 2025), “We are constantly hearing anti-India statements from Pakistan, have provoked war to war.

Shahbaz Sharif threatened India

This serious response to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has come out after a warning by Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The Pakistani PM had warned on Tuesday (August 12, 2025) that India would not be allowed to take even a drop of their country. This statement of Pakistan came after India’s decision to suspend the 1960 Indus Water Agreement.

During a ceremony in Islamabad, Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif said, “If you threaten to stop our water, you cannot snatch a drop of water from Pakistan. If India tries to do something like this, he will be taught a lesson.” Pakistan has repeatedly claimed that the action of war will be considered to prevent water from flowing in Pakistan.

From Bilate Bhutto to Zardari made anti-India statements

Prior to the statement of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, from Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari to former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto made anti-India statements. He compared the suspension of the Indus Water Agreement with an attack on the Indus Valley Civilization and warned that if we were forced to war, Pakistan would not back down.

Ministry of External Affairs statement on Indo-US relations

At the same time, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said on the relations of Indo-US relations, “We believe that this partnership will continue to move forward on the basis of mutual response. Defense cooperation between the two countries is strong. These relationships have increased in the last few years. It has increased its spread in the last few years. This month a defense policy team is going to come from America. A defense policy team is coming from America. Joint military exercises in both countries are going to come.”

Harsha Di Silva, an MP from Sri Lanka, has made a statement on Monday (August 11, 2025) with the ongoing tension between the US and India in the Sri Lankan Parliament and 50 percent tariff on India towards President Donald Trump. The Sri Lankan MP has urged the Parliament of his country not to take the impact of American charges on India lightly and he emphasized that India is the only country which provided significant assistance to Sri Lanka during the worst economic crisis.

What did MP Harsha D Silva say in Sri Lankan Parliament,

Harsha D. Silva defended India’s opposition to unfair and selective business measures by US President Donald Trump, keeping his views in Parliament. According to the report of the Daily Mirror, he said, “Don’t laugh at India. When they are down, don’t make fun of them, because when we were down, they were the only ones who helped us.” The MP said, “The game is not over yet. We saw you laughing. Don’t laugh. India hoped that the fee would be less up to 15 percent and we expected the same.”

Sri Lanka’s financial condition in 2022 was pathetic, then India helped

Sri Lanka’s financial condition in the year 2022 had worsened, due to which the fuel stations dried up, the supply of food grains and medicines was reduced and the foreign reserves were eliminated. India then emerged as the biggest supporter of Colombo, which, along with postponing loan facility, currency exchange and loan payment of more than US $ four billion, provided several consignments of human assistance.

US President imposed 50 percent tariff on India

At the same time, US President Donald Trump imposed 25 percent additional fee on Indian goods on Wednesday (August 6, 2025) due to continuous import of Russian oil from India, after which the total tariff imposed by the US on India has become 50 percent.
