India vs Pakistan No Handshake: The Indian team has maintained the no handshake policy with Pakistan. The match between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup is being played in Colombo on 15 February. At the time of toss, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav completely ignored Salman Aga. In this match, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Talking about men’s cricket, this is the first time that the Indian captain did not shake hands with the opposing captain. This trend has been going on since Asia Cup 2025, but this is the first time the Indian team has done this in any ICC tournament. In the press conference last evening, Captain Suryakumar was asked a question regarding the handshake. Surya said that it would be better to wait for tomorrow (February 15) for this. Now by joining hands again he has given the real answer to the question asked yesterday.

India batted first, what did Suryakumar say?

After losing the toss, the Indian team has been invited to bat first. On this, captain Suryakumar Yadav said, “We have no problem with batting first. Actually, we wanted to do the same. We have seen the results here, in the last 2 matches we have won the match by defending. So we do not want to make any changes.”

India’s playing eleven: Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Tilak Verma, Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dubey, Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakraborty and Jasprit Bumrah.

Pakistan’s playing eleven: Sam Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Aga (captain), Babar Azam, Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Usman Khan (wicketkeeper), Shaheen Afridi, Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq.

Abhishek Sharma has returned to the playing eleven after missing the last match. Considering the conditions, Team India has kept an additional spinner Kuldeep Yadav in the final-11 in place of Arshdeep Singh.

In Asia Cup 2025, 3 matches were played between India and Pakistan, this also included the final. But Suryakumar Yadav and the team had decided that neither at the time of the toss nor after the end of the match, they would shake hands with the Pakistani players. Surya had even refused to accept the winning trophy from PCB chairman (who is also the ACC chief) Mohsin Naqvi. But the opposite scene was seen in hockey. Players of India and Pakistan did high five in Sultan Johor Cup 2025.

High-five between players of India and Pakistan

Sultan Johor Cup 2025 is being organized in Malaysia, it is an under-21 tournament. In this, a match was played between India and Pakistan on Tuesday. Before this match, players of both the teams high-fived each other. After the national anthem, Indian players high-fived Pakistan players. Its photos and videos are becoming quite viral on social media.

However, Pakistan was afraid that like cricket, Indian players would not join hands in hockey also. For this reason, prior instructions were given to the players of Pakistan hockey team and they were asked to be mentally prepared. Quoting an official, it was said in the media report that, ‘Players have been told that if Indian players do not shake hands before or after the match, then they should ignore it and move ahead. They have been asked to avoid any kind of emotional conflict during the match.
