Suryakumar Yadav was dropped in all three squads, after which BCCI has appointed Shreyas Iyer as the captain. Tilak Verma has been elected vice-captain and Vaibhav Suryavanshi made it to all three squads.

Why not choose Shubman Gill?

After the announcement of the T20 team, some people were criticizing on social media why Shubman Gill was not selected despite being in excellent form. Now it has been revealed in a report what is the reason for this decision of BCCI. A source told PTI that Gill has been asked to give priority to Test and ODI.

The source said, “The selection committee has asked Shubman Gill to give priority to Test and ODI cricket till the 2027 ODI World Cup. He is in excellent form, but this decision has been taken because the board wants him to be fully fit for the upcoming important tournament.”

India has a very busy schedule for the next 18 months, if Shubman Gill plays all three formats then it can be very tiring for him. Before the ODI World Cup to be held in 2027, India has to play 35 ODI and 9 WTC matches. For this reason, Gill is not included in the T20 team, although it is expected that he will make a comeback before the Olympics and T20 World Cup to be held in 2028.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced Team India for the five-match T20 series against England. The Indian team will play a five-match T20 series in England from July 1. Schedule of India’s tour of England

Team India has to play a five-match T20 series and a three-match ODI series on the England tour. The T20 series will start from July 1. The first T20 will be played at Chester-le-Street on 1 July, the second T20 at Manchester on 4 July, the third T20 at Trent Bridge on 7 July, the fourth T20 at Bristol on 9 July and the fifth T20 at Southampton on 11 July.
