Due to the trade deal, the reach of India’s electric machinery, goods and chemicals will increase in the UK markets. Due to this deal, both countries will get equal rights to do business here and it is targeted to increase the existing bilateral trade from $ 56 billion to about $ 120 billion by 2030 in the coming time.

Pardes will be sent from jackfruit to basmati rice

After this deal, from India to Kolhapuri chappal to jackfruit, from Goa’s Feni to Basmati rice will be sent extensively in Britain. Now that after the deal, there will be no fee for export of 99 percent Indian products, then about 23 billion dollars will also open. That is, products like fruits, vegetables, mango pulp, spices, pulses, turmeric, black pepper, cardamom will be exported to Britain without any fee from India. This will also increase the reach of jackfruit, millet and organic herbs in Britain.

Kerala’s toddy will get entry in Britain’s pub

After FTA, unique traditional beverages of India like Goa’s Feni, Nashik’s Wine and Kerala’s Todi (Toddy) are expected to be recognized in Britain. If this happens, people will be able to taste these beverages in the pubs, restaurants there. The Government of India has increased the export of narcotics to $ 1 billion by the year 2030, which is currently $ 370.5 million (about 2,200 million).

Sea products will also increase access

Apart from agricultural products, fisheries sector will also benefit as marine products are expected to get entry into Britain’s Marine Import Market from states like Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Apart from these, grapes and onions from Maharashtra, peanuts from Gujarat and basmati rice from Punjab and Haryana, spices and fruits from Kerala and North Eastern states can be sent to Britain.

The agreement by the British Parliament is expected to be passed by next year. Only after approval, the tariff on imports will be reduced to 75 percent and in the next ten years it will be reduced by 40 percent.

Liquor companies welcomed the deal

Sanjeet Padhi, CEO of International Spirits and Wines Association of India (ISWAI), said that the deal will get more balanced and equal business atmosphere than before. This is because there is no charge on the export of Britain’s liquor from India.

However, people associated with the industry say that prices will not be less than 10 percent. An official said, the stake of custom duty in MRP’s overall structure barely sits 15-20 percent. The rest includes tax and distribution margin imposed by the state government, so only 8-10 percent will be reduced.
