Rain has disrupted the first ODI being played between India and Australia in Perth, the match had to be stopped twice before 12 overs. When it rained for the first time, play was stopped for about 10 minutes, yet one over was cut short. Although the match is to be played till 8 pm Perth time, why was the match stopped for such a short time and 1 over was deducted? The big reason behind this has come to light.

The match was stopped due to rain at 9:43 pm Indian time, when India’s score was 25/3 in 8.5 overs. Team India had lost the wickets of top 3 batsmen in the form of Rohit Sharma (8), Virat Kohli (0) and Shubman Gill (10). But the covers were removed after about 7 minutes, the match started early but still 1 over was cut.

There is no extra time in India vs Australia match!

According to the news, there is no extra time allotted for the first ODI being played in Perth. Although the match will end by 8 pm Perth time, no extra time has been given.

Rohit-Virat flopped in India vs Australia first ODI

After 224 days, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were playing an international match, but both flopped in the first match against Australia. Rohit Sharma was dismissed by Josh Hazlewood, he scored only 8 runs. Virat Kohli, who came at number three, could not even open his account, he was caught out by Mitchell Starc. Till the time of writing the news, the match was stopped for the second time due to rain. Then India’s score was 37 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in 11.5 overs.
