The third match of the Test series between India and England is being played at Lord’s Cricket Ground. Why Lord’s name was named, there is a tremendous story behind it.

Lords is one of the most beautiful plains in the world. It is also called the maize of cricket. The ground is named after Thomas Lord. It is located in St. John Wood, Westminster, England in the ground.

You will be surprised to know that today’s Lord’s Stadium is not in its real place. This is the third of the three grounds that Lord built between 1787 and 1814.

The ground that Thomas first built is now called Lord’s Old Ground. This ground was there, where now the dorset is square. He then built a second ground called Lord’s Middle Ground, which was used from 1811 to 1813.

The second ground had to be left because a regent canal was to be built at that place. After this, Thomas built the current and permanent Lord’s Cricket Ground.

This stadium is currently owned by the Marilebone Cricket Club (MCC). This ground currently has more than 31000 spectators’ seating capacity. The first international match at this ground was played in 1884.
