Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, Team India will play the next T20 series against Zimbabwe, for which the players have left. The players including captain Iyer who are part of the ODI series against England will go after the third ODI but head coach Gautam Gambhir will not go. Considering the busy schedule of cricket, BCCI has taken this big decision.

Under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir, Team India made an embarrassing record in T20, recently the team lost to England 0-4 after losing 0-2 to Ireland. After losing 6 consecutive matches, questions were raised on Gambhir’s coaching, that he could not handle the debut of Vaibhav Suryavanshi properly. Now BCCI has decided to send a new head coach on the Zimbabwe tour, although this is not because Team India has lost under Gambhir’s coaching but this is a decision taken due to workload management. This is not the first time, this had happened during Rahul Dravid’s time also.

The team left with Laxman

BCCI has decided to send Center of Excellence head and former cricketer VVS Laxman as head coach on the Zimbabwe tour. The board has already sent Rahul Dravid on foreign tours in the role of coach during his tenure. Laxman is experienced and has been playing an important role in preparing young players for a long time.

Shreyas Iyer (captain), Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Rinku Singh, Shivam Dubey, Abhishek Sharma, Yash Thakur, Prabhsimran Singh (wicketkeeper), Tilak Verma, Ravi Bishnoi, Harsh Dubey, Suryansh Shedge, Mayank Yadav, Ashok Sharma, Prince Yadav, Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

ZIM vs IND T20 series schedule

Zimbabwe vs India T20 series is of 3 matches, the first match of which will be held on Thursday, 23 July at Harare Sports Club. This match will start at 4:30 pm Indian time. The second match will be held on 25th and the third T20 on Sunday, 26th July. All three matches of the series will be held in Harare and all timings are from 4:30 pm.
