Union Budget 2026 is coming at a time when India’s AI dreams are strong, but the lack of execution and clear rules is clearly visible. In the last two years, the government has built a strong base for AI—an example of this is the approval of ₹10,372 crore for the IndiaAI Mission and the expansion of 38,000+ GPUs. ₹2,000 crore for AI and AI Center of Excellence in Education announced in Budget 2026. But the industry believes that the challenge is more of execution than funding. Affordable and green power, fast approvals and clear regulations are essential. AI startups need long-term support, public-private funding and assured demand. Focus on real AI adoption in regional languages, healthcare, agriculture and education is necessary. If Budget 2026 delivers on these aspects, India’s AI dream can become a global reality.
